Altri famosi proprietari includevano Amelia Earhart. Vorrei sapere la rarità dell'orologio? Grazie

Beautiful watch, but there is no evidence of it having been a military watch. Such watches would typically have identifying markings on the case back.

I have owned an Eterna chronograph signed Barth Zurich, so the dial is likely original.

I don't think it's a military watch, but certainly at that time a gold watch could have a character, certainly it was given by a senior officer to my grandfather

Translation of original post.

Hi, I inherited this watch from my grandfather, who has always told me that he received it as a gift from a senior officer of the war in Albania for about 40 years, for saving his life. I have done my research but I am not an expert, chronograph with 28.9 T2 caliber, 34 mm gold case, with personalized dial for barth zurich, from my research. Examples of this stainless steel watch were used by the commanders and pilots of the air forces (Italo Balbo) who used them on transatlantic crossings. Other famous owners included Amelia Earhart. I would like to know the rarity of the watch? who could it belong to?
Thank you.

Very nice watch.

In the inner case back there is a list of number and letters, anyone know the meaning?

Yes, a very nice watch. I have a similar watch (similar numbers) which dates from 1941.

Although the Italo Balbo and Amelia Earhart watches were 28.9 CHRO, they were much earlier and different movements - they were also ‘functional’ watches, this is more of a (beautiful!) dress watch.

Sadly, as is the case with so many treasures that appear on this forum, you will probably never know the history of the watch. You might as well make up your own history (others do!).
