    Hello,

I am looking at this Omega 26.5. Serial number dates from around 1935. I always have trouble telling if the dial is original and if the logo is correct on these older references and would appreciate your opinions. Also are there any issues with the movement that you can see? The seller is asking $1500, I know that we don't do valuations but please let me know if you think that price is out of a reasonable range.

    Thanks!
    James

Oh and it’s not oversized, per the seller it’s a 33 mm case excluding crown

    Hi James,

It looks like there is some damage to the dial - between the 4 and 5 hour markers, on the subdial, and in odd patches here and there.

The movement is very hard to assess, but without proof of recent service, it's safe to assume that it is due one.

$1500 feels like a lot to me, but then I tend to snag this sort of thing from the bottom end of eBay... and make it a habit not to dip too deep into my pocket. ;)
