OMEGA 2506, Jumbo 30T2 - Crown question

Hi,

I recently acquired my first vintage Omega timepiece, and I have a question regarding the crown's positions. Presently, my watch seems to have only two positions: manual winding mode and hour-setting mode. I'm unable to secure the crown in place, and there appears to be a gap between the case and the crown, leading me to suspect that there might be a third position for locking the crown.

I'd appreciate guidance on whether there might be an issue with the crown or if this is normal behavior. Should I consult a watchmaker to address this, or is it within the expected functionality of the timepiece?

Please see attached pictures.

Any help/advice is appreciated
Thanks

There is no way to lock the crown and only two positions. However, IMO the watchmaker who last serviced the watch could have made more of an effort to have the crown sit flush to the case when in winding mode. It's not aesthetically pleasing.

Thank you Dan, I will bring it to a watch maker to have that sorted ASAP

That crown is too ornate for a plain watch of the 40s, and is not the correct one for the case reference. Both of my 2503 and 2504 references have the ST35003 crown, and according to Archer in this comment, so does the 2506.
