Feels and looks smaller than professional

Compared to 1997 "Replica":

Great comparison shot! Thanks!

So much nicer! Any way you could show us a shot of the leather strap?
Or on the grey NATO [emoji6]
I don't like either of them, and fitting the black nato to the Seamaster 300 did scratch the case back.... so sorry, no pictures !!

If you wish to sell the grey NATO I'll buy it from you.

A $20 ebay nato would be as good..

I was merely refering to the speedy strap itself rather than the strap on the watch. But if its a hassle to pull out and snap a pic no worries

That’s awesome. Shows how the trilogy would look weird with the white lume I guess.

I agree, blokk. Good observation.

That said, the "Replica" still holds its own as an attractive watch. I was fully expecting is to be totally eclipsed, but it's still a nice alternative.

Does it seem odd to anyone else that the only two Speedmasters we have seen have been acquired without reservation or advance deposit, yet those of us that have already invested $1000s have nothing? Omega works in mysterious ways indeed.

I haven't been at this all that long, but this is the first mention of a 1997 version I've ever seen! No "for sale," no wristy, no arguments about what's the point on here! Is that 50th Anniversary one all sewn up by collectors? Rare and valuable?

No, not particularly rare or expensive, and I don't think it was an Anniversary model or even limited (I stand to be corrected if that is wrong). There are some for sale now or recently for around US$3,000. Trouble is, it was never quite right with all correct dial bits but in the standard 42mm asymmetrical case and with the standard bracelet. There were two references as I recall (3594.50 with bracelet and 3894.50 with a strap), so do your searches based on those. Here's a pretty good summary article of it and other "1957" models.

Very informative, thanks! Not sure why I'm so obsessed with this 60th Anniversary release...I just feel compelled to get the Speedmaster to pair with the RM that is on order. Prudence suggested that maybe the 50th would be a decent substitute but it's just not doing it for me. Arrrgh.

Been a back seat watcher ( pardon the pun )
Thought I would share...
Please be explicit for those of us who are slow! What's beneath all that plastic packaging?

So you scored a trilogy without buying THE Trilogy. Which one didn't get number matched - looks like the RM? UK delivery?
