Omega 1951 Advertisement

Just for fun, and for a bit of 1950's ambience, here is a scan of an advert I have just purchased from an eBay seller in France.

It is from an issue of "Plaisir de France" in 1951, and seems to be celebrating the fact that Omega had just got 1,000 movements chronometer certified by the BO at Bienne, with the added bonus of "particularly good results". Great style!

Actually, that event occurred in 1949, not 1951.

Desmond did an article about it, based on an inquiry I made about a watch I had purchased.

Fun, this, isn't it 😉

I had no idea my advert related to something so historic . . . I just liked the look of the graphics. The seller seemed quite sure that the magazine was 1951, but the date does not appear on my actual page. Perhaps Omega just kept running the ad and getting mileage out of past events!
