Hi
26.5 SOB inside, redone dial, radium hands not matching with a non luminous dial.

This is one of the first two models with 26.5 inside More info tonight when I have access to my catalogs (I think it is a ref 800, but need to check that).

It is indeed a modele 800. When Omega launched the 26.5 SOB, they did two models, a cushion shaped case (MOdele 800) and a round one, close to the trench watches, with ref 710.
Here are both from a 1926 German catalog :

And the real ones :

The OP's watch has a 26.5 SOB (the original one without the transformations made by Omega later - T1, or T2 or T3). This original version is easy to spot as it has a 'sunk' spring click where later transformations had a 'hook' spring click.

I finally add this one. The case is oxydised but I kept it exactly as found (except I had to change the broken crystal) because it has a big sentimental value : it was my grandfathter's one. My mother found it last year in a box where it had stayed for decades :

That's him

Wonderful photo...thanks for sharing that.
I wonder what people 50 years from now will think when their grandparents' old watches are Fitbits and Applewatches.
I recently gave a family member an automatic watch and it was the first mechanical watch he'd seen.
A good weekend to you.

Thanks for your reply. I thought the dial was not original as the 5 overlaps the bottom dial. Look forward to whatever else you can uncover. - many thanks.

Many thanks for all your comments. One last question I’m debating - should I get it refurbished back to its original spec or leave as is?

No, not really. Long story, so I won’t bore you! Can see that the dial has been replaced or painted to accommodate the hours 13 to 24. Also see the Omega logo is missing. Can keep as is, or have (hopefully) dial taken back to original - just not sure if it’s worth it, but no emotional tie.
