·I have had success using a syringe to pressurise the inside which can force the crystal off (sometimes explosively)… but you need to be able to remove the crown (split crown)

Thesre's no way to use a syringe to pop the crystal on this model

·Thanks. You are completely right. I just saw the question about the crystal lift (which is normally needed on the uni cases).

·Careful with the syringe method. I used to collect Omega Dynamics and Cosmics. I had that method damage a few dials. I eventually just bought the right tool and it's night and day better.
I've got 2 sizes now (102, and 105 IIRC), and they are among my best purchases.

My first attempt to open a unishell case (a COSMIC 2000) ended in disaster.
I studied this guide and thought, "OK, not too hard".
I didn't have a compressed air source but suddenly thought "hang on, there's one in my bike tools.
I tried a couple of test runs and was confident I could gently pressurise the case, so off I went.
Unfortunately, using one hand to open the valve as well as hold the adapter to the crown tube, while the other hand hold the watch, robs one of a...
