Omega 166.010 - should I pull the trigger on one of these two?

Hi all,

Long-time lurker, and first time poster (I think, other than the odd direct message).

I've had my heart set on a 166.010 for a few years now, and I'm wondering if I might be able to move forward. I've found a couple on eBay that look plausible to me, but I wonder if I'm missing anything.

Option one:
I don't see any glaring issues with this one. The dial looks original to my poor eyes, and the lines seem reasonably sharp, though I imagine it's been polished. The movement and case back look OK to me. I don't have any pictures of the endlinks on the bracelet, so I can't confirm if they're original. The seller is asking about 1080 USD.

Option 2:
Although it doesn't come with a bracelet, most of my watches end up on straps so I'm not sure how bothered I am by that. This one looks more polished to me, though the dial and hands look nicer (unless I'm looking at refinishing...am I?). The seller is asking about $680 USD (so I could conceivably pick up a bracelet later on if I find myself wanting one and still pay less than Option 1).

Note that I'm only too happy to accept recommendations of other options! It doesn't have to be one of these, but from my recent hunting these seem like the most viable prospects so far within my budget (though as is, it may be a bit of a stretch...).

Option 1 is actually the sought after 168.024 chronometer with 24J 561 movement, as also marked on the dial. Looks like the better choice to me and price is reasonable for that reference. The interior caseback has the correct dual caseback reference markings used for these and 166.010.
So I would say Option 1 is a good choice. Better chronometer movement, dial and case look good. Most of these come from Japan.
Good luck post it if you get it.

And one more bonus observation- the 168.024 has onyx hour markers you can see the center ridge on a couple of markers first photo
