I found it odd that the numbers stamped on the time mechanism are 180 degrees out from the clock face tbh...

Anyway... With that picture of the back plate... Is that enough to identify it..?

Tadda...!!!
Awesome so has confirmed that you have a 1984 Seamaster Quartz ref 196.0235. Gold plated to 20microns. The movement is a 1420. Not much more info to be found.

It won't be worth a lot though that dial is nice... The movement is replicable if necessary with an Eta 255.xxx type movement if necessary in the future.

I have a 81 Seamaster with the same movement so have spent a few hours reading up since my purchase

DMass...! Thank you for your update pal. It's very much appreciated. I know it's not got much value... It's worth the world to me though because it was my fathers. Thank you all so much for taking the time to reply xx

Great to hear, I understand your sentiment. We have a vintage Seiko in our family line also. It won't come to me as I don't have a relationship with the parents so I bought my own vintage to pass down haha

Enjoy it, certainly makes a nice dress watch for a special occasion.
