Although the ink in them tends to not be light fast and fades fairly quickly.

There is not really much that can be done to clean dials. Sometimes one can use distilled or DI water and dab it. (never wipe.) Others use enzyme solution #4 what is popular with art restorers. The solvents like IPA or acetone will react with the printing.

And while I am kidding about the Sharpie I did for fun use a silver sharpie to cover some of the more egregious scratches in my favorite quartz rat-watch,



It actually looks a lot better when not photographed.
