·Having not owned a Seamaster or Omega (but hopefully to change this year). My dad does have a early 90s Rolex Sub date, & myself a Tudor BB58. I always thought the SMPc (& earlier Bond ones) were the akin to the Sub, especially the gloss dial SMPc, the newer wave SMPc is technically superior, but many may see it as more going on than the Sub. The PO is against the Seadweller IMHO.
Before 'lockdown' I did visit my local AD and saw the all black ceramic SMPC wow lovely in the flesh, and I also agree the new black dial variant isn't that bad in the flesh compared to the photos. Think the earlier blue bond SMP and black gloss dial SMPc are a better option for me. The new NTTD Bond looks great, but will need to see if prices dropped slightly in the coming years.
