·Hello there,
many watch brands don't produce their leather straps themselves but buy them from other companies.
For example, many IWC straps say "Made in Austria". Others are produced by Santoni in Italy. I've heard (from WatchBox YouTube if I remember that correctly) that Vacheron Constantin is a client of Camille Fournet Paris.
Does anyone know other examples? Where are Rolex, Omega, Patek and so on getting their straps from?
(Note: I just want to aquire more knowledge, I'm not planning to buy a specific strap.)
Let's make that a list:
IWC: Santoni (Reference: Their Website, Marketing)
Omega: Interstrap SAS from France (Reference: Comment below)
Vacheron Constantin: Camille Fournet Paris (Reference: Watch Box YouTube)
There's an association called the "Assurance Qualité des Fabricants de Bracelets Cuir (AQC)". The five founding members – Brasport and Multicuirs in Switzerland, Camille Fournet and Interstrap from France, and Austrian manufacturer Hirsch – represent more than 80% of the world’s production of leather straps for high-end watchmaking.
