Odd case

First of all greetings to all and congrats on the forum.

I’d like to know your thoughts on the following watch as it has a case I’ve never seen…
Yea, maybe the dial has been refinished (if it is I’m ok with that), but it’s the case that’s bothering me… Is it legit?
Buy the way it has a 285 movement in it.

Thanks in advance to everyone.

What was it supposed to be according to the seller?

Are they silver hallmarks/import marks near the crown?

Could be a locally produced silver case.
An extremely heavily over polished silver case.

The seller didn’t mention anything about it…
But then again if you’d want to sell a frankenwatch you wouldn’t mention anything, would you? You’d wait for a sucker like me

I have to feel bad. It’s a beginner’s mistake.
No worries now! You've found us! 😀 Before you buy another watch, read this thread:
https://omegaforums.net/threads/learn-how-to-fish.52603/

Next time you find a watch you like, start a new thread with lots of pictures, give us some idea of what you think is right or wrong with the watch (we like those who try to do their own research), and ask for our opinions before you buy it.

Unforgivable

We all start somewhere, I shudder each time I look at my mistakes, but they were my entry-point to seeking more knowledge, finding this Forum with all this information and help was a revelation, as were other forums and blog-postings and books.

I know you’re right.
One thing I must work on is my impulse buying.
Just because it’s a cheap omega doesn’t mean it’s a good omega.
So I really need to hold my horses and look up so someone who knows more on the subject than I do
