That price would allow some gold ala Apollo 11 50th. It's not an anniversary watch, just a celebration of the Snoopy prize.
How much was the Apollo 11? Wasn鈥檛 it over $10k?

US$9,650 + tax, around $10,500 for most buyers.

Guessing limited production. Omega is looking hard at the number of deposits and the rate at which deposits are made in order to allocate production resources, plus some extra margin, this demand requires. As that demand slackens (via deposits), after release, they will decide the production cut-off point- there also may be a calendar date condition. So there ought not be a numbered cap on the watch. This way, everyone who wants one will get one but then Omega doesn't need to produce these forever either. When I mentioned "limited production" to my OB rep, he seemed to agree. I put US$5K on the table.

I'm not sure that Omega will know how many deposits have been taken, isn't that just a deal between the AD and the buyer? In the UK we don't have to put a deposit down for a watch so unsure how Omega would know how many watches are required in the UK.

Anyone have more accurate info on how the process works?

The boutique took my deposit and needed my email address. They said they had to send that information to Omega HQ so I'm guessing Omega is tracking demand some what through their boutiques.

I understand the AD taking your e-mail address they probably took (or have) your phone number as well, either could be used to tell you that you have been lucky or unlucky in getting a Snoopy Celebration watch. But I am unsure why Omega would want your details.

When the 321 was announced I expressed interest via the Omega website, this request was confirmed by Omega and then forwarded to my local OB who has been in contact with me since with an update. I have heard nothing further from Omega.

IMHO I doubt that Omega want to know who has asked for a watch, they want their dealer network to deal with the sales so any personal information would be kept by the dealer. But I could be completely wrong and talking utter rubbish.

Since no one from Omega corporate is responding here, we can only speculate.

As OBs are corporate sales fronts, I鈥檇 say that it鈥檚 a combination of cash deposits + wait lists to determine approximate demand.

The cash deposits will be booked as deferred sales revenue so that will be a known number. In the case of the waitlists, I presume Omega would assign a probability based on historical performance of other LE/LP pieces which Omega has tons of history on.

But again, it鈥檚 all speculation. For all we know, Omega might just use a dart board.

Haha, this may be the truest statement ever.

Omega can't judge demand until the watch is released and price known. If it doesn't look good, or is priced too high, it might struggle right out of the gate. Just because the last version was a huge hit does not mean this new one will be, too.

Kinda like it but I hope they will so something more than just a repaint.

I also hope they will keep the "what could you do in 14s"

This is great. Can you throw a white dial with blue subdials (Keep blue tachymeter) and or substitute the black minutes ring for white.

Good idea. As you can see in the photoshopped picture, it's made by an Instagram user called @watchstick_81.

Nice render, but pretty much all the leaks from the OBs (presumably through Extranet) mention a silver dial.
