·I think at this point most shops have gone through their original waiting lists from 2020 so its more about "building relationship" to get one.
I went to the OB at K11 Musea which I believe is brand new so they definitely dont have a waiting list from 2020 lol.
Lol totally agreed that K11's OB don't have a waiting list from 2020.
For my own experience - I recall when I was first interested in mechanical watches, I had my eye on the 007 NTTD (should be end of 2021). Silly me didn't do extensive research on secondary markets as I was worried to buy a fake. I bought the NTTD at Omega boutique in TST.
After the NTTD, i started to look more into Omega and only then knew Speedy is THE iconic model from them (yes that's how clueless I was back then). I was then interested mostly in the 321 as I like vintage/heritage watches. At that time the sales pretty much indicated (w/o saying outright) that customers who were allocated with either 321 or Snoopy are big time customers (like 600k HKD worth of purchase at least). They said they can put me on the wishlist anyways but sounded to me like a "courtesy" add. I thought might as well add the Snoopy on the wishlist.
During the course of 2022 I did follow up again and made sure I was on the wishlist, especially for 321. I didn't expect anything more from them as their policy still seemed to be that you gotta buy more to get one. No follow-ups after that whole year.
End of 2023 (Nov) - I suddenly got a message from the SA informing about the 321! After I got that I thought that's it and didn't think about the Snoopy. However, three months after and the Snoopy came.
Now this makes me wonder - what is Omega HQ treating the status of "Snoopy" now? Since they didn't release another 55th anniv model, are they really keep pumping these out? Understand they might not worry about secondary prices much and their aim is to sell as many watches as possible. However, if the secondary price plummets, won't this mean less people is interested in the Snoopy, which in turn makes people less interested in their other watches, and leads to lesser sales?
