Don't you deal with the Houston OB? I would think they would have a lot of returning customers rather than new 'one off' types, but perhaps the Omega community is a new phenomenon there. As in most places high end watches usually revolve around Rolex and Patek Philippe, those are the names the public is familiar with. Rolex for decades, PP relatively recent.
Yes, I deal with the Houston OB. I think most of their customers are one off purchases since Omega collectors know that they can get much better pricing through GM. That leaves the OB with mainly walk-ins who don't know any better.

I don’t see it being discontinued anytime soon. The Apollo 8 dark side of the moon is also a “special non limited edition”, it was released in 2018 and is still in production. The snoopy came in 2020 so I don’t know why they would retire the watch if it keeps on selling well, but that is just my opinion.

Was lucky enough to get one this past week. I was on the list for 3 years as well. My ob said they are getting very few in and I belive it because I had asked they open nothing until I got there and when I opened it 2 reps were standing with me because they have never seen one. He had no info to share on when production will end but said he doesn't see it lasting much longer but it's probably him just guessing.

Totally agree on the strap comments I find it kinda ridiculous that it comes with one strap and no metal band or even nasa strap. My seamaster 57 came with a leather strat, metal and nato and it cost like 5700 if I recall. Ob offered a free nato but said there's no way to even discount the 3816 band which cost about 750. I would have paid the 500 if he were able to take the credit for the nato and put it towards it. I may have to try a uncle seiko or forstner band because I can't stand how stiff the stock band is

I think they did discontinue that, its just still available at some shops because it wasn't popular enough to sell out.

Well if they follow the trend of the past, it will be replaced in 2025 or late 2024 with the 55th Anniversary Snoopy.

Omega is done with the anniversary pieces, there was no 55th Apollo 8 this year, there won't be a 55th Apollo 11 next year, and there won't be a 55th Snoopy. Finito.

Interesting. Wonder if they are just going to let the Snoopy 50th keep running then.

Like a cow Omega will milk the Snoopy watch until sales drop off, then they will stop making it. No one knows when that will occur.

Have you heard this from an official source or is it just your opinion?

We don't know for sure yet. Apollo 8th was at December 21st, 1968.
Not likely though, I agree.

They already skipped A15 and A17 50th anniversary.

Heard it will be made until the end of 2024 at least from a pretty good source 😉

I went to 2 omega boutiques last week and both still had the Apollo 8. They told me they don’t receive many but they still receive it. So I don’t think it is discontinued yet.

Because no one cares about those A missions. The ones everyone knows are A11 for moon landing and A13 for the accident.

If that was the aim they would have produced more right now.

Even so, Omega did do LE anniversaries of those till the 45th edition and changed their MO in 2020, so just pointing out why I don't think A8/A11/A13 55th's aren't in the cards anymore.

Not necessarily, look at the constant hype and attention the Snoopy has had for the last three years, people are still anxiously awaiting for the call. If they had dumped 7,000 pieces all at once like they did for Apollo 11 50th, and more to satisfy overall demand, there would be scant attention paid at this point. Instead, it's still a much anticipated item and no one knows how many they will eventually make. Omega has learned how to play the emotional side of the market to their financial benefit and perceived luxury standpoint among the public. Win win for them, but the collectors have to play the waiting game.

For the Toronto folks on wait-list at the Yorkdale AD, a rep told me today that they received a total of 2 watches this year, and are still expecting to fulfill all 100 orders on their wait-list.

At this fulfillment rate, the MSRP might be higher than the current gray market price if/when mine gets fulfilled...
