Because Omega wants to call the shots and control the situation. Information is power. The customer is not the prime focus here, the image and profitability of Omega is. They do the same with the 321 Ed White and other desirable models. And Swatch does it with the MoonSwatch. It's the new corporate direction, make the customer feel lucky that he was allowed to purchase a particular watch.

I won't be trying my luck again with Omega.

My interest had been wandering off before this release, but now that prices are creeping up into more premium brands as well as the poor rollout of this.... I think this is the last new model I'll buy. Not that they care.

Yep. My OB in NYC (Manhattan) gets 10-20 per year, so I imagine that’s the most any OB would get. So by that math and 60 OBs (?) it’s maybe 10 x 60 x 2.5yrs = ~ 1,500 Snoopys so far

Note I’m putting a range. I have the exact number but would rather not put it here

When I collected mine in Feb '23 from O.B Bond St in London, they estimated they might get 30-50 this year.

My OB told me that there are 120 OBs worldwide and it is rumored that Omega produces 2.000 pieces / year. Deliveries started afaik in November 2020.
First customers have been picked by Omega Switzerland, in the last year the OB could recommend customers.
Waiting List in Munich is 4 figures long

Feels a bit high but who knows haha. My number is just NYC’s actual deliveries in 2021-2022

There is no number in the documentation that equates to how many of the Snoopy watches are made. That's as secretive as where Elvis has lived for the past 40+ years.

Wowza.

That's looking like a long wait...

My AD, who is one of the 2-3 largest Omega vendors in Canada, has seen... zero Snoopys since the launch. They reckon fewer than 50 have been delivered in Canada, with likely thousands on the list -- with deposits for many if not most of those. Omega reps aren't keen to discuss it, and of course they're rarely dealing with frustrated customers directly.

I'm more interested in tool watches and vintage at this point, doubt I'll buy another Omega new, but I've followed the brand since I inherited an early 60s Seemaster DV a decade or so ago.

I don't love this iteration of it.

A.D numbers seem to be all over the place, but I think those estimating that +10k of these will be out there are over egging it somewhat.

Who knows.. it will always be a guestimate anyway.

Emailed my Boutique (Manchester) last week for an update, replied saying they are getting 1-2 every 2 - 3 months and I should receive mine either 3rd or 4th quarter this year, any Uk buyers purchased this year have you paid the original price ?, sure I've got an email from boutique saying they will honour original price just curious as to whether others have paid original price now we're so far into the production build

Hmmmmm, will have to see then, my email from them stating they would hold the price was August 2022, I paid a 20% deposit in October 2020 and from my point of view the delay in production is not my fault and it's not the boutiques either but as far as i'm concerned I paid a deposit for a watch at £8250 and not £9800, either way I'll have the watch but I'll be more than p****d if they charge me the current price

Congratulations. I'm glad to see your Snoopy arrived. See my post above. Looks like we had a very similar experience.

I am glad the wait is over, it is a great watch for those still waiting. As others have stated, the dial is very unique, it is silver in some light and white in most light. Really stunning.

Yeah the conservative estimate was originally 5,000 in the first 2 years.
Nothing makes me believe it is any less than that.

I called into OB in Leeds, UK, yesterday and they only received their first one last week!!! It’s a member on here I believe.

Hopefully they will start trickling through to this part of the world now we’ve had our first as I’m 6th on the list (was originally told 5th so not sure what’s happened there but didn’t argue it).

Looooong wait ahead…..

Is it really a matter of part of the world as UK has seemed receiving lot of allocations since October 2020 ?

But definitely the fact that your boutique only received the first one this month shows that the allocation system is really difficult to understand and quite unfair

Not to doubt your specific OB.. just putting this here for info gathering. When I picked up mine the OB told me I was the first delivery in months... (little did they know) I know someone who picked up theirs right before.

Dropped by my AD few weeks ago and was told one Snoopy was delivered last month to a VVIP.

I have my deposit at one of the AD in Western Canada. Spoke to them in Jan this year. They mentioned only 1 piece got delivered to them to a VVIP and do not know when they will receive additional pieces.
The manager made a comment (was pretty rude) and said I am welcome to get my deposit back and that everyone wants one.

Almost two weeks on the wrist, for those waiting, it will be worth it. Really like the watch, but must say, Omega did a very poor job communicating with everyone the entire time. Paying for the a price increase (as I did) really added salt in the wounds. It would be one thing if they only sold rare and fancy watches, but they don’t. I believe they hurt their brand.
