I couldn't make the trip, so I had the Boutique ship it to me and it arrived yesterday.

Love the watch - hate the band. It has be the stiffest, most uncomfortable band I've ever had. I tried bending it to limber it up, but I guess I'll just have to wear it awhile and hope it gets better. I can't recall if any of the preceding 250 pages in this thread mentioned it, but I'll be looking for alternative bands/bracelets.

FWIW, the Boutique said they were receiving 10 pieces this year, and I got #8.

I have a similar strap from Omega (the 19mm blue strap from an AT I believe) that I use on a different watch.
Just leave it clasped around a watch pillow and it'll break it on its own.

Congratulations on your Snoopy allocation!!!

The stiff Snoopy strap will mold to your wrist slowly. My guess is that it was intentionally made that way. Since the caseback on the watch is quite thick (possibly moving the center of gravity away from the wrist), a strap that is shaped to your wrist will help keep the watch centered. On a softer strap, the watch will tend to sag unless you wear it very tight. Give it some time and you will likely find that it is very comfortable.

So it arrived a day early. Had a quick look and then back to work! Looks fabulous. Apologies for the rushed amateur photos!

Talked with my OB this past weekend, interesting how this is all working out. It seems the situation is constantly changing. A few months ago (July), they told me they could likely take my deposit soon. But now its changed and theres no real estimate on when I'd be able to have one. "A couple years" maybe.

I was told I'd be considered above anyone who just decided to call in/drop in for a snoopy without ever making a purchase before. I'm no whale but maybe im somewhere in the middle?

Just had a chat with my OB today. This is from the Short Hills Omega NJ. He estimated that 10-15 Snoopy’s have passed through. Contrast that with 3 Ed White 321s and hundreds of Ti Bond NTTD Seamasters (which got a recent resupply associated with a jump in demand from the film release).

The opinion of the SA (and may not be informed by official communications) is that Omega is working to increase supply and that he thinks that 2023 will see a large increase in availability. He suggested that Omega wants to fulfill the fan base so that they aren’t having to go to the secondary market.

I didn’t ask to be put on the list and he didn’t suggest that I am crazy not to…which suggests that it’s not do or die at this point.

Just as a data point, another in my area when straight from client to a re-seller and I don't have one. 😕

To those still waiting; hang in there, it’s even better in real life!
Especially impressed with the very high resolution printing, which I believe to be better on the production model compared to footage I’ve seen of samples. Amazing piece!

Thank you! Nothing fancy actually, a regular iPhone (8, I believe). Just had some luck with the light present on the train.

There are already pictures floating around of the Snoopy 3 disassembled, but these fun figures also make it pretty clear how the mechanics behind the Snoopy animation work.

US Patent # 20210294271

Has anyone had one from an AD yet?
Someone on TRF posted that he got one from an AD. California I think. That’s the first AD delivery I’m aware of.

Pretty clear you say? 😟

This is really the only view you need to understand this...

I've added some arrows and numbers to help.

1 - this is the constant seconds hand installed at the 9 o'clock position. This hand is installed on an extended post from the fourth wheel of the movement, which turns at 1 revolution per minute.

2 - this is the wheel that is pressed on the extended post of this same fourth wheel on the top side of the movement (the back) that drives the chronograph on the watch. These two things are the same as a regular Speedmaster.

3 - Omega further extended this post, and then pressed a small printed disk with the earth on it, onto the extended post. Like the constant seconds hand on the opposite end, it runs when the watch is running, and turns at 1 revolution per minute.

The capsule complication (if one can call it that) is similar...

4 - this is the chronograph seconds recording hand, that as the name suggests, records the seconds when the chronograph is running.

5 - the chronograph wheel was modified similarly to the fourth wheel, with an extended post coming out the top side of the movement. The capsule is simply another hand that is pressed onto the end of that post.

So all this animation consists of is extending two posts a little longer than they were, and pressing things that are similar to regular hands onto those posts. I'm a bit surprised it was different enough to actually earn a patent.

Hope this helps.

Cheers, Al

Helped a lot, thanks - and probably in line with intuition.

Curious and sure you’d know whether the extra weight or resistance resulting from extended posts, cantilevered Snoopy capsule, etc., may have required any other running adjustments to the watch or chronograph?

Nothing is noted in the technical guides, so it appears not.

He donated a Snoopy?

I believe he donated a globe master about 2 years ago...maybe you referring to that.

Not really a fan enough of that guy to bid on one to pay over MSRP lol. However, if you are reading this Omega, I would bid a good number over MSRP for one signed by Lovell, Haise, and Kranz.

It’s a snoopy, there was a picture of it in the box, George signed the right side of the box
