I’m on the list at OB for two years now (since A11 50th delivery) and still with no info whatsoever except that I’m number two on the list… Man, I’m really loosing my hope I get one from OB for a retail price one day.

I’m approaching the 1 year mark since the initial deposit, and I have to say I got a bit Snoopy fatigued. I’ll keep waiting, especially after I’ve seen the watch with the steel bracelet, it’s objectively amazing. But almost 1 year having payed full price… it’s a lot.

The thing is that I don’t think OB, director and associate have much power in deciding about allocation. There are clients with stronger history/relation than me, so the only way is to exercise patience.

Same here -- although I only put down a partial deposit.

Wait and see, I guess, though I don't expect mine to arrive anytime soon now, if ever. Main irritation is that with it hovering over the collection like the expected guest who has not yet arrived, it's hard to know whether to proceed with any other big-ticket purchases knowing that it may or may not arrive. The longer this goes on the more I wonder if it will be a quick in/out purchase for me. And it has changed the calculation a bit with Omegas for me; when I was offered a similar "waiting period" watch in the NTTD recently -- it was an easy pass.

At this point, it has been over a year since I put down my deposit. I’ve asked my OB and the answer is always the same. They have no clue and only know 2 days before one arrives. Other than the 1 that was allocated to the local VIP over the holidays, there has no pieces since.

I’ve been struggling with whether to do business with Omega. However, I recently decided to purchase the ATWT since I was blown away by how great it looks. While I know I could have gotten a better deal with an AD or grey, I decided to stay with the OB. No discounts but was able to get an extra strap. Hopefully this purchase will help with my overall spend and show my loyalty to the brand/OB. Sigh…

I know there’s no chance but I’d love to see the stats how many Snoopies were delivered to which country. There are countries with 1 or even zero delivered watches (I’m not talking about Yemen or similar countries but about EU countries). Wonder what is the strategy in deliveries.

It appears on this thread (no real data) that GB is getting alot of the allocations.. so maybe the strategy is to petition your country to leave the EU too 😉

My country already fought a war about 250 years ago to not be part of the Commonwealth.

Ha, I'm also rebel scum. I'd also add (liberated Europe, moonlanding, and about to free the martians) but don't feel obligated to send more snoopys our way as appreciation.

Funny how the watch is about the US space program yet we aren't getting the watches in the US. lol

US only got 10-12% of the Apollo 11 50th anniversary model back in 2019.

Omega just wanted our full deposits $ 😀

It feels like paying for the ticket concert way in advance to reserve the spot, but then all the walk-ins enter before you, and you even risk of missing the show.

100% Accurate the struggle is real.

Considering some lists are 80 long, not having a single delivery at some dealers in nearly a year, omega really need to ramp up deliveries.

I can only assume, they are playing the hype game by trickle feeding the market in year 1.

This is just a 3861 speedmaster with a coupling on the chrono seconds to animate the caseback. It’s not a complex watch. The slow rollout doesn’t make sense when they can flood the dealers with new moon watches.

I don’t think the metallization of the moon on the case back nor the laser engraved silver dial are particularly easy to do. The watch also has a ceramic blue bezel that requires a special process to get the blue colour and it has seven layers of enamel. The bezel is closer to an Ed White 321 than the aluminum on standard moonwatch. This watch has way more detail than a standard moonwatch. That being said, I think they could probably make more of them. This is obviously a halo piece for Omega and they want it to be hard to get, it wouldn’t have the same hype if you could just walk in and buy one. They have to find the balance of keeping it somewhat exclusive vs. upsetting too many customers.

Are dealers flooded with standard new 3861 moonwatches? I don’t think they are that hard to get, but they are selling at the same rate they are coming in …. So sometimes there is no stock and a wait.

They are not hard to get at all. You can buy all 4 variations on the Hodinkee website for full retail +tax and have it the next day.
Overall, I don't think there are many discounts to be found on these.
Amazing how Omega is able to absolutely pump these out in no time at all, but when it comes to other watches, it is a slow trickle....

It wouldn’t have the same hype if it didn’t sell for 3 times it’s value either.

in all seriousness, many of those things you think make it hard to make were the same for the Apollo 11 and they knocked 7000 of them out pretty quickly.

I suspect it’s omega playing the hard to get game. As soon as it gets easy and the market value goes down a bit, quite a lot of the demand subsides.I suspect omega know that and are acting accordingly.

And another friend in Europe got his Snoopy, I just received the pic.... damn!
I have to say he is really a top tier client, with years of history, many pieces including PM, and he had to wait basically 1 year.
So... regular customers need to be extra patient.
there is no way out.

Yes, but those were all all knocked out before a global pandemic made a mess of supply chains.

History is forgotten all too soon - it was the case back of the last Silver Snoopy that caused all the delays getting those made, and I suspect it's the same thing here that the external components are the delay.

that’s fair enough. But per my post above, production of a ceramic bezel should not be a blocker to this watch. The sending of it - well maybe. But many supply chains are back to normal now so let’s see.
