That’s what I’ve mentioned in my original post. Apollo 17 40th anniversary is the one. And I’m not sure there is another one with current market price below MSRP. Except A17 40
I guess I got confused back there. Too many limited/anniversary editions multiplied by all the apollo missions. I personally wouldn't mind owning this weird coin speedy but I've never seen it in person.
I saw it a few months ago at an AD in Antwerp. Still listed on their website for €6.2K (truly NOS) with 2 years warranty, quite strange they don't give the current 5 year warranty. The invisible subdials are to me a turn off.
Everything seems to be invisible with that design. But I think it's quite unique. It'll be a conversation starter for sure. However it may not look good on the wrist. It's like wearing a big a*s coin that tells time.
Not that much. Commemorative caseback and A17 styled watch box. Certificate of limited edition with LE number of course.
I bought mine year ago BNIB at AD with a nice discount. I paid 4.880€. The price went bit higher since then.
To be honest my only motivation was to complete my collection. Honestly same situation with A11 50 - I didn’t like the watch much but if you collect Apollo missions watches, you literally have no option but buy it
I Eat drink be merry men and women for tomorrow we all die and you only live once as you only die once so open your wallet, hand over your credit cards and carry on (with the buying)
Do you actually wear this one out? If I had a collection of Apollo Speedies, this one would never see the wrist.
I don’t. But I actually wear only two (145.022-69 chocolate dial and white Snoopy) watches from entire Omega collection. Sometimes I wear vintage Rolex as well. But it’s like once a month. Most of the wrist time gets my Garmin Forerunner because of the training functions - measuring heart beat rate and blood oxygen saturation, which helps a lot while you’re in a training mode. And you need to wear it constantly to get proper results. That’s the reason why my mechanic watches are getting so less wrist time. But it doesn’t make me sad. I enjoy having the collection itself. And I lead my little daughters to understand what are the mechanical watches and why we have so many while not wearing them. They don’t get it. So far. Yet. My wife either.
