I am sweating because I am only on a list without need to put a deposit and they are not taking any more orders since yesterday. In essence it has likely become unobtainable from OB (forget about AD)

I think we should start a deposit thread
And who would be getting the Golden medal? 😉

relax guys, they are most likely not taking anymore order for now due to initial hype, as Im sure they dont want people to wait too long for their watch. Im sure even if they stop taking any orders now, they would take again in about 3 months time. Im sure whats sold out is just the "initial production" not the whole production. Remember its not limited edition nor limited production.

Go and offer them a deposit! Unless you do so, you will be stripped out of membership! 😉

I suppose we have a different set of values in our respective countries and that’s fine.

Why do you think the Omega UK is happy to only take a 20% refundable deposit - is it to encourage flipping? No, only a true idiot would suggest that (if the cap fits..) ... indeed it is because it's part of our values - we believe in fairness and we don’t believe greed is good....

As for your condescending University comment I think it speaks volumes about your personal values - when you read something you don’t agree with you resort to such personal comments - and there’s me thinking you might respect first amendment rights of freedom of speech .... something `ive always respected the USA for...
Come on man. It is easier just to make an excuse and stop it there.

I think this piece will be trading at close to retail price in the grey market, whether its above or below retail remain to be seen.. but I think Omega strategy is, if you want one and you are willing to wait for it, you will definitely get one. Which i really appreciate. There is a reason that they state its not limited edition and limited production in the website and press release.

Don’t come on here and start talking common sense. 😉

MY OB told me the whole purpose of the 100%pmt was to separate the men from the boys, obviously there is great US demand, perhaps less so in the UK, after all Apollo 13, Snoopy, and the NASA Award are all US things......I am sure Omega has a method for the madness, greed notwithstanding. After all the purpose of a company is to make money is it not? I think some of you people ought to try and buy some fine wines, you get to pay years in advance in full, and maybe just maybe you might get the wine.

Not trying to come off as a wine snob, but if you're putting down full deposits for years, you're not buying "fine wines." In fact I'm not really sure what you're buying, but unless you're flipping your allocation, you're being taken for a ride.

Real "fine wines" are purchased through auctions and brokers/dealers. If you're in the game then you likely have someone navigating all that for you. If you're really in the game then you're on the list. Don't know anyone that is getting "fine wine" by floating money upfront for years.

You get it quite literally! I do not want to entangle more in a dispute whether a shareholder may milk by himself Apollo 13th 50th! Keep steady and look forward! 🍿

I honestly have no idea what you're saying, but it is what it is

That's what I heard as well about the deposit. Tons of flippers around where I am, so the OB was selective in telling some people first over the others. The entire deposit was somewhat hard to give out but it's 100% refundable and I can wait.

I called my OB on 5th Ave NYC a few minutes after the watch was unveiled and they said they would only take full deposit. I am #77 out of 110 on their official list and I was told that list closed later on the same day
Monday and Tuesday was crazy for them. Got besieged with phone calls and visits... lolol. I ended up going in at closing time and paying the rest with a cup of coffee on the table.

Great for you that you're in the financial position to make a purchase decision on a $10k cartoon watch as easily as you make menu selections. Some people have to think about it.

If you really want to go by your absurd menu example, this would be more accurate. "So many great entrees I'm not sure if I want to get the arctic char, but maybe I'll try it next time.""Great sir, it is a very popular dish but everyone who wants one can get one while its still on menu. We'll just bill you out now though (with tax+tip of course) so you can have the privilege of enjoying our fantastic dish next year!" "Great, I'd be happy to pay up front for this privilege, would you like my SSN as well?"

The only way this should be tolerated is if you're EMP level, and even they aren't making you pay for a reservation a year out.
why does omega state limited right here?

Omega just changed it

realistically this would be produced much more than 7k watches, otherwise it would be weird to call the 50th apollo 11 edition limited while this edition is not limited with less than 5k watches. Which is good news for everyone right, if you want one you can get one, the way it should be 😀, since its not limited i expect at least 20.000 pieces produced.

Yes, surely there will be a watch for everyone who likes it and have the funds to get it.

YY77 which country are you in? I know of Netherlands, but Holland .... first time I hear of it. 😉

"A short history of the Netherlands and Holland
Between 1588 and 1795, the area that is now the Netherlands was the Republic of the Seven United Netherlands. In 1795 the country was conquered by French troops and became the Batavian Republic. Napoleon proclaimed his brother Louis king in 1806, making the Netherlands a kingdom. After the fall of Napoleon, the Netherlands remained a kingdom. The Holland area was the largest contributor to the economy and prosperity for the entire country at that time. Holland therefore became a common name for the whole country abroad."

I used google translate as it's explained on this site.
