Observation on new SMP 300m - Question on gap between crown and case

Hello all,

Recently bought a new SMP 300m - it's actually my second one in a different color. While comparing the two I did notice a small difference even though they should be more or less identical. I'm curious about the screw down crown. In the attached picture (top) I noticed a gap between the crown and the case that I circled - you'll see two white dots which is light passing through - these are the gaps. The reason I bring this up is my other SMP 300m (same generation) seems "tighter" and those gaps don't exist (bottom). Picture attached as well.

Just curious if this is a cause for concern (water, moisture, etc). Aside from that it seems to screw down fine.

@Archer would love your thoughts on this as well

Thanks
Rahul

@Archer are such variances expected among two of the same watch? I was always under the impression that the crown needed to be right up against the case, but I do know that metal on metal won't provide the water resistance and internal gaskets are at play. With my PO8900 the crown rights right up against the case when it's tightened, but I know it's a different watch than the one in question.

Did some research to try to learn more. I think it's possible that since my other SMP is 1.5 years old, maybe the o-rings and gaskets have some wear to them and that's why the crown is more flush with the case. The newer watch is basically brand new so the crown sits slightly higher because the o-rings and gaskets aren't really worn in yet... no idea if this is correct though

Its possible that the winding stem on one watch is cut slightly longer than on the other watch, leaving a bit of a gap when the crown is fully screwed in.
