Greetings,
I just serviced an omega movement caliber 552 and got it running but I just noticed that I had no click and click spring on it when I put it together. It had been setting idle for a couple of weeks before I disassembled it and could not remember if it even had one to begin with. I don't remember losing any parts either. It has never happened to me before,or ever noticed it. but it is running after I tried to wind it. I notice a tap when the rotor moves possibly because the spring is slipping upon full wind. Is this normal? If so, how does one release the power on it. Very odd!!!

It should have a click and spring…
I would have thought so as it would seem absurd not to have it! What is strange is that It runs for a good 12 hours without a click! I have never had this experience before with any other watch which is what I find strange, prompting me to share this! I see It is a problem with a positive side effect🤔

The automatic winding will keep it wound to an extent, but as soon as you remove any of that the mainspring will rapidly unwind, so make sure it is run down as much as possible before doing so.

You should really get the click installed…

Thank you! That answers my question. I was mostly puzzled on how to release power from the mainspring if the click is not there to be pushed back for the mainspring to unwind,

I also saw a post some years ago ( not sure where )that removing pallet fork is another way to release power as done with the Brac 2002 pin lever movement, as click is not s present or seen! I did not want to risk this method with the 552 by gambling the pallet fork,

Have just ordered a click, spring and screw from eBay and will need to wait until it arrives!
This was a great learning experience for me!
