.....as that grail piece is out of my reach given all 1970 examples are long since spoken for after the blockbuster unveiling at Baselworld 2015. But at least a consolation prize arrived for Christmas in July.....

My strap source was able to attain the OEM Omega strap, and I immediately mounted it to my 3572 Tritium. Ever since I tried on the DSOTM I've hankered for a cordura strap that would also work with the fantastic Omega deployant (nee deployment) clasp, and after trying numerous aftermarket options the one I've wanted has been produced and acquired.

So some initial thoughts:
-Fit and finish are fantastic. Even my source said it's the nicest Omega strap he's ever seen.
-That being said I almost don't want to wear it for fear of damage, but my source said he just got a few more in so replacement shouldn't be a problem.
-Straight ended so can fit in any 20mm lug width.
-While the lug ends are straight there are still cutouts at the mounting locations, like seen in most of the Omega curved-end deployant straps, so mounting is much easier with less possibility of damaging the material near the lug holes.
-Really like the addition of the rubber reinforcement at the strap holes - the only complaint I would have against some OEM Omega deployant straps is that securing the watch load on a single strap hole sometimes lead to stretch, so the rubber should alleviate some of the problem.
-The strap isn't as padded as other Omega deployment straps, and the padding itself seems softer and more cushion-y, so the strap wears incredibly comfortable.
-With that said, the strap wears a bit looser than some other Omega deployant straps. The fit difference between this and my Calf Leather strap is about 1/3 of a hole (roughly 1/8").
-Also, I'm not sure if they make a short version of this strap so those with wrists smaller than 6 5/8" will probably not be able to wear it. I'm on the third hole with 7 3/8" wrists, so two holes and roughly 3/4" of fit down is all that's available, while going up there are 4 holes left.
-The liner is a similar material to the DSOTM strap leather - supple and smooth but not as buttery soft as other leather linings.
-The tri-state area is in a heat wave right now, and switching from my calf leather to this is a noticeable increase in comfort. Wears cooler and lighter, although that may be a function of its larger fit (see point above).

I'll continue to add thoughts and observations as wear time increases. And if anyone is interested in one shoot me a PM. Thanks all for your time.

I'm a huge fan of Omega's deployment straps. Two of the three modern Omega watches that I own have them: one leather and one rubber. What impresses me most is the overall quality of manufacture and materials, and then the comfort. That strap on your speedmaster looks fantastic; excellent choice.

Personally, I don't see much of a loss in not getting a Silver Snoopy. I would honestly have a hard time wearing a watch that expensive with a cartoon character on it. In fact, pretty much any special issue Moonwatch that does not look like yours above, could be considered a "novelty watch" to some degree. I'll concede that even my Speediorite (my only Speedmaster of any sort), when all is said and done, is a novelty watch (which I love dearly!) when compared to a classic Moonwatch. Similarly, I have no problem wearing a watch that is like the watches worn by the James Bond character in film, but I could never wear a watch that had any kind of James Bond gimmickry as part of its design and appearance.

So, that's the Snoopy Strap? Beautiful and congrats. I'm considering tracking one down as well.

Another Omega deployment strap you may want to consider for your watch is the natural brown leather version. I saw a guy standing in line behind me at an airport a couple of months ago with a modern Moonwatch paired with the natural brown deployment strap, and it looked spectacular. In fact, this was the very first time that I thought of the Moonwatch as being an attractive watch to wear.

Already have that covered.....

And yes, I specifically purchased it to match up with my yellowing markers and the gilded movement of the 3572 Tritium.

One of the best straps from the new introductions. Do you have the part number for the strap/deployant? Maybe a pic of the inner surface?
Thanks

Model number on the inside of the strap is CWZ003436. Here's a pic of the inside my seller sent to me, I didn't snap any yet.....

That looks nice - esp. with the white stitching. I too had a hankering for a cordura-style strap recently - closest I came was this, non-OEM from Strapcode:

I've also used the black Kevlar strap from an X-33 on a couple of diff. speedmasters (the regular kevlar - not the Coriamide 'ribbed' one which is sometimes also referred to as kevlar..) and I think that too works well..

out of the park homerun. looks awesome. i imagine it's the same strap that comes on the DSOM, only with difference color stitching. the one complaint i have about that on my DSOM, is that i've had it one year, worn it essentially every day, and the tip has become frayed. this won't be an issue on a deployant, obviously, but just thought i'd put that out there. can't wait to get the black ceramic deployant for my DSOM.

Don't believe the 'all sold out' malarky. We're not taking about a limited production run of 100 pieces or so, and even if we were, there'll be a few that are unspoken for. You can still find much older LEs that are NOS, a lot of the times in ADs and boutiques.
