Not quite sure how I ended up here..

… it’s been an interesting watch collecting (or should I say watch flipping?) journey over the years. My fascination/interest in watches was sparked by my Dad’s Omega Seamaster (which he has since gifted to me and is now the centerpiece of my modest collection…that one will never go!). Over the years, I’ve had a few Subs…5 and 6 digits, a 5 digit GMT, 2 Speedys (ok, I do regret letting the 3861 go), and others. I tend to get itchy for a new watch and always end up flipping to fund a new, interesting purchase. Among all of these so-called high end watch purchases, the constants in my collection (besides the Seamaster) are the Seikos. And recently I find myself reaching for the SKX009 more than any other watch. No frills, just simply bad a$$ and frankly it makes me smile everytime I look at it. The Turtle also gets a lot of wrist time. Maybe just getting a new appreciation/perspective as I get older …but boy I would have saved a ton of money along the way if I’d discovered how much I love Seiko earlier in my journey!

I'm at the point where I think I could probably reduce my collection to Seiko and Rolex and just focus on those brands moving forward. Certainly that's pretty much all I'd need for wearing.

Now and then I buy an Omega just to have something to show on the forum ... and then I sell it. 😁

While I appreciate what both brands have to offer, I’m not a Seiko or a Rolex guy, but there will always be an Omega and a JLC in my collection.

What about this doesn't float your boat?

But seriously, I have bought sooo many Seikos in the last 18 months. There's just so much fun the had.

And this is one of my favorite things in my collection:

I have the “new” 62MAS tribute or whatever in the blue dial version. I think it is JDM in blue, but I like it a lot. I put it on a blue Isofrane and it’s just about perfect. It does need adjusting I haven’t got to yet…

It has displaced my SKX007J which will be for sale soon. I’m too new to list things for sale here but PM me if interested. It’ll be on eBay next week. I have three Seiko bracelets (well two and the rubber strap) as well as a beefy Uncle Seiko screw together oyster style. Original box (no booklet unless I locate it). I’ll throw it on the Timegrapher as well do a health check.

The Seiko I wear the most is a 62MAS.

You should potentially lighten that load by one to this old guy…and throw in that Seamaster you showed me for good measure 😁

EDIT: never mind , I just checked the prices on those. Holy smokes. Great looking watches though!

When I’m not sure how I end up in any place, it’s usually something to do with excessive whiskey consumption!

This thread sent me on a rambling internet journey. Anyone have this Seiko SNZB23J2 diver? I like the looks and the price.

If you ever run out of room to store them all, you know where to find me.

Here's a handy tutorial on getting more real estate out of each wrist:

Except, in Dan S's case, it could be two pristine 62mas's per wrist, 4 total. Then, I figure you take MadDog's lead and wear the 5th one on your belt. After that, I suppose a necklace of some sort could be fashioned.

@Mpnunes your post got me thinking. I was I like: "Seikos are cool. It's ok that I've impulse bought a few...I wonder how many I have now?"

Long story short: are there therapists who specialize in Seikos?

Thanks! It's certainly getting colorful in my watch box. I think picking up a 62mas or 6105-8110 would definitely make it more robust 😁.
