I was advised to post my question here. I think I have gotten myself lost and confused in trying to make sure I identify this watch correctly. I think it is 7220 but what specifically...I keep getting confused as the watch hands on this piece have a black stripe down center then the illumination and another black stripe down the tip. I would really appreciate any help in correctly identifying this watch. In charge of my fathers estate and just getting to things after several years. I appreciate your help and Hello from the Colorado Rockies on a snowy day!!

It is a 2nd execution 7220NT (black dial, tachymetre track) with replacement hour and minute hands meant for a non-tachy model.

So he at one time had the hour and minute hands replaced but still Heuer?

I believe the hands are for a Heuer, since they resemble Heuer's style at the time.

All correct answers from my learned friends as far as I can see. A 2nd execution 7220nt. The hand STYLE is correct for this model as the black stripes on the hands 'match' the white stripe on the hour markers. (Earlier versions had the plain hands with no stripe and round pushers, not 'fluted' such as your example.) As pointed out though, they don't appear to be original to the watch as too long, the lume looks a bit wide too. Happy to check on the serial number for you if you have it, feel free to PM me directly if you prefer.
