Package collected! 馃榿

Postal Services of USA and Australia competing for handling damage 馃槨

All is well though, packed by the sender in a sturdy box, cushioned by pages from "The Record", a Joizy tabloid??馃摉

And inside, the chrono, resting on a bed of soft cotton wool 馃ケ

A quick look reveals a little gem in need of some TLC 馃槵

After a cursory buff with Brasso and a quick dust off, it starts to bloom 馃グ

More pics to follow later on after I've had a chance to to a proper clean and polish (no buffing wheels involved though!)

That's gonna look good!

It will, but I need to go to photography school. I can't seem to get a god shot without crystal reflections 馃檨

Man, I'm soooo happy that everything arrived safely. I'm always worried on international shipments. I'm glad I could be of service. Watch looks amazing now, so all you used was brasso on the crystal? Awesome! Pleasure doing business with you.

Thank you, Dennis, for your help and turning me on to these forums.

I have many other watches that I need to get on the bay when I get a minute.

Thanks Jim for buying this watch, it goes a long way for what my family and I need to achieve.

Enjoy!

...by the way, loved the photo documentary of the whole process. Really made this entire process very fulfilling.

No, keep a little reflection! It adds depth and gives a little life to the photo IMO.

I usually remove the band or strap and leave the watch sealed.
Then.
Extra fine wet and dry (P1200) to reduce any deep scratches, and then on a double layer of old clean cotton (old T shirts) on top of another layer of towelling and the magic ingredient. Brasso liquid.

Pour about half a teaspoon of brasso onto the pad and start polishing, change direction from up down/left right to circular and check every 30 seconds or so.

I do it on my garage bench and then use a clean microfibre cloth to clean off the dry Brasso and dust before I take it back into my watch room.
