Blown away! The Northern Lights have always been on my list to see and thanks to a G5 Geomagnetic Storm, they are visible in my neck of the woods for the first time in 21 years. Stunning to see in person!

Gah, I'm so jealous. I'm north of you, but the sky is cloudy right now.

Very cool, people are starting to spot it in Washington as well, hoping to catch a glimpse.

Starting in Portland Oregon.
Not as clear with the naked eye but the camera picks it up. Hopefully it'll get brighter as it gets later

Maybe worth a drive into darker sky's tomorrow. Fun times.

My brother drove up Hood to Frog Lake with a decent camera, I'm interested to see what he gets (and hoping it's something!)

You lucky ducks! I worked for a long time at 71 degrees north and never saw it, I saw it once as a kid at 59 degrees but wasn`t that spectacular.

I had no idea that was even possible that far south. Very cool.

Fabulous, thank you for sharing. Unfortunately not visible from big cities due to excessive light pollution, but they were seen as far south as Switzerland and southern France.
You’ll find amazing pictures on the web, published by Mathieu Rivrin / 20 minutes - of the famed abbey on the peninsula of Mont Saint Michel in Britany.

[picture removed due to rights issues-search the web for it]

Some folks in my area were apparently able to see the aurora through their cell phones, but I couldn't see anything with my naked eye.

We could see some of the color with the naked eye but the cameras were definitely able to pick up a lot more. The sky was unmistakably lit up, the later it got the more trouble our cell phone camera had taking pictures but the cooler it looked. Even without a lot of color you could see the beams of light shifting and moving around.

Very thankful I had an opportunity to see it!
