Been tried before. It didn't end satisfactorily.

Poor execution ...

You got a catalog???

I was told that if I collect 15 Rolex sales associates business cards, I could be qualified for a pamphlet.
Once I collect 12 pamphlets (required 15 business cards for each one), I will be eligible to qualify to get a brochure.

Once I get 6 brochures (each requiring 12 pamphlets which require 15 business cards each) I may be eligible to be on the wait list for a catalog…but I have to have 6 precious metal and ladies watch catalogs (each requiring 6 brochures which require 12 pamphlet and 15 business cards) to qualify for the stainless DJ catalog.
Once I get 4 stainless DJ catalogs (each requiring 6 precious metal catalogs- each of those requiring 6 brochures, 12 pamphlets and 15 business cards), I will be on the wait list for a stainless sport catalog…which may or may not be available in 2025.
Utter genius. Contender for best post of the year. 😀

You ask... so you shall receive! 😉

Now when I went to the omega AD they were really cool and when they gave me the catalogue they made a point of saying almost everything in the catalogue is available for order if we don’t have it in stock.

what do they say when they hand you a Rolex catalogue at an AD? “Here’s a bunch of stuff you can never get.”

Seriously I don’t want to be judge mental as I’ve only been in a couple AD when I drove my wife to seminars for her work they are (pre covid) usually in nicer parts of cities, well one was a boutique I guess as it had Rolex, Tag and omega in it. The Omega and Tag people were very nice and welcoming. The lady working the Rolex section with a handful of watches in mostly barren display cases was very standoffish. Yes I had a Grateful Dead shirt on and I had no intent on buying a Rolex but gee I gave her a friendly hello and she said hello back and scurried to the other side of the display I guess to rearrange the watches that were not in it. Now the omega guys damn they came so close to making a sale, the only thing that held me back was the vision of my wife dragging me into the store to return it when her seminar was finished. That was back when I was still a one handed human and not working but I. Complimented them on their salesmanship as it was superb. I’m sure there are great Rolex workers around just the couple I visited were not overly welcoming.

Unless my math is wrong, you'll need 25,920 sales associate business cards - good luck!

You can get Rolex sales associates business cards from sales associate business card dealers who are not authorised. They are exactly the same Rolex sales associates business cards but they don't have the name of the Rolex sales associate. The non-Rolex Rolex sales associate business card dealer will however offer you his name on the Rolex sales associates business cards for 1 year. These non-authorised Rolex sales associates business cards are only 4x the price of the authorised Rolex sales associates business cards.

Plus, with these non-authorised Rolex dealers, you do not need to collect 15 Rolex sales associates business cards in order to qualify for a pamphlet, you can get a pamphlet right away. It is the same pamphlet, but you're going to pay a lot more for it. These authorised Rolex pamphlets from a non-Rolex pamphlet dealer are only 4x the price of the exact same Rolex pamphlets you can't get from an authorised Rolex dealer.

The non-Rolex pamphlet dealer has a super-secret source for authorised Rolex pamphlets, it's almost like get gets them directly from an authorised Rolex dealer and they split the inflated price suckers are prepared to pay for these pamphlets because of a convoluted market manipulation/repositioning strategy being controlled top-down in order to extract the maximum profit out of complete marks who are trapped in a vicious cycle of seeking external validation through social media posting while being continually drip-fed algorithmically targeted content that convinces them that they still aren't good enough unless that have the newer and shinier precious. But that's obviously not the case because brand heritage or something.

No, no no. It has nothing to do with brand heritage! It's all about the AD relationship!

Locally my Rolex AD was the victim of a smash & grab heist last week. 4 people with hammers smashed cases and grabbed contents. While I am not trying to make light of the crime, I did have to laugh a bit when they interviewed the Manager. You guessed it, not a single Rolex was stolen. A couple used watches and some vintage jewelry was what they made off with. (And were caught, crime really doesn’t pay here!)

It would be out of a screenplay if they made off with a dozen display models only to realize when they go to fence them that there aren’t any movements.

Interestingly, I stopped at my AD this afternoon and they had a BUNCH of display models (Explorer 1,Explorer 2 polar dial, batgirl, TT Dayto, Milgauss, SS Skydweller Blue dial, etc…) and although the sales person thought they had no movement, I gave it a try and they all started. The manager later stopped by and said “yeah, they have a movement… but no papers for these!”
Not completely sure what to make of it, but there you have it.

And here are some pics (or it didn’t happen!! 😀 ):

I’ll happily buy those without papers for the value of their scrap metal.

That green catalog looks quite thick. I know Patek has a smaller own that is pamplet size and a bigger one that do not give out to simply anyone. Audemars Piguet used to hand out the nicest catalogues just by sending an email!
