Greetings!
This year I have bought way too many watches. The feast must end.
Soon I will be buried alive by these goddamn tiny ticking machines if I don't change my behavior. About a month ago I decided “no more watches this year” and here we go again. I just bought this lovely cheapo diver. It was so reasonably priced and recently serviced. Pic from seller.
I must learn how to resist the siren song of vintage beauties. Hence, I am declaring a watch fast! Starting date 1.1.2022.
A human can survive without food for 30-60 days, so let’s see how long a watch collector can last before he succumbs and makes a new purchase?
Who’s with me in this doomed and masochistic endeavor?
I don't buy nice, 'investment grade' watches. I buy cheap vintage stuff, sometimes borderline junk. So yeah, I don't worry about inflation too much 😁
You’ll have to share pics - otherwise it isn’t true 😁
To actually contribute to this thread, I might not buy any wrist watches this year. I’m trying really hard to save up for an important watch, and that fund doesn’t get to where it needs to be if I spend $150 here and $250 there.
Well, my resolution didn’t last very long... I secured a lovely black dialed double-signed Eternamatic yesterday. It’s a local sale that I’ll pick up over the weekend. A WTB post will be coming for a new crown.
Thank you to @Northernman for the guidance on this piece, you are a gentleman and a scholar.
Pics aren’t loading for me today, stay tuned!
Edit, added a pic from my phone
