This sounds like a good idea. I’ve now got many of the damn things that they can’t all get enough wrist time.

.... very sorry to say so.... but I am pretty sure you are all going to fail . The bug is invicible. Once you got it, no cure. Prestigious or cheap? You wouldn't resist. Just adjust your choice to your bank account .😉😜👍 Happy new collecting year!!! Hehe!

I've decided that I have too many wrist watches so I'm laying off them. However, I am also of the mind that you can never have enough pocket watches.

I am still committed (maybe I should be)... I do have two projects started last year to collect and pay for shortly ...so I am already cheating a bit ;0)

Ah but there are still plenty of vintage watch boxes, bracelets, end links, straps, buckles, clasps, stands and other accessories and parts to be bought. Fill up those storage boxes at home!!

Yeah, extras don't count 😁 I will probably have to buy a new box as my wife is tired of looking at watch piles on the living room table. I also have to pick up 4 watches from the watchmaker, so that's good as it scratches the itch of getting a new piece.

I'm in, was already my plan for this year as only bought 2 last year which was a huge change for me. I find myself wanting far less than I have in the past so unless an old wanted bargain presents itself I think it's achievable for the first time in years. Everything I do like us too expensive for what they are these days anyway and genuine bargains rarer than ever.

My weakness has always been 70's watches but even those have now fallen into favour with collectors and I don't get tempted by the prices nice ones now fetch.

I have not seen the bulk of my collection for months, now the bank office is shut for Covid. Just my JLC Master Calendar and a few Timex /Baltics at home. I think I can go a year .

Day 2 of the new year and no watch purchase. (Spring semester tuition paid - ouch!) So far, so good. 🙁😗
