Rare Opportunity To Own A Very Unique Watch
Charles Nicolet Is World Reknown As One Of The Finest Swiss Watch Makers, Dating Back To The Late 1880's
The Nicolet Watch Sub 200 Is A Divers (20 ATM) 2 Register Chronograph, It Registers 45 Minutes, Which Is About As Long As A Diver Would Want To, Or Be Able To Stay Under Water For. For A Watch Made Almost 60 Years Ago, This Was Quite A Feat In Itself.
This Particular Model Of Sub 200 With Black Dial & White/Red Hands Was Issued Only Within The South African Air Force - This Particular Watch Was Issued In 1958 Although It Is Thought That The Watch Itself Is Slightly Older Than This, Maybe Around 1954/55.
The Choice Of Movement For This Beautiful Looking Time Piece Was The Great And Super Reliable Landeron 189, The Very Same Movement Which Was Fitted To Such Watches As The Heuer Carrera 45 And The Heuer Monaco, The Early Breitling Chronograph Watches Were Too Powered By This Fabulous Movement.
The Landeron 189 Is One Of The Greatest & Most Reliable Chronograph Movements Ever Made, The Fact That It Still Functions As Strong As It Did Over 50 Years Ago Just Goes To Show The Workmanship Which Goes Into Creating Such A Movement.
The Chronograph Functions Works As So:-
Top Button - Starts The Large Second Hand Which Counts The Seconds
Bottom Button - Stops The Large Second Hand Going Round
Top Button Restarts Stopwatch
Bottom Button - Resets (Fly Back) Back To 12

Sub Dial @ 3 Records Minutes (45)
Sud Dial @ 9 Records Seconds Continuously (Perpetual Motion - Sweeping)

The Watch Has Been Fitted To A Grade 316L Steel 'Oyster' Type Bracelet - This Was Fitted To The Watch When I Purchased It Back In 2010, I Doubt Very Much That It Is The Original Bracelet, But It Looks Fantastic On The Watch
The Bracelet Is Of Good Size And Would Fit A 7.5 Inch - 8 Inch Wrist

* Bad Bits - There Is A Hairline Crack In The Centre Of The Acrylic Crystal, This Happened When I Fell Off My Bike - It Is Centralised and Does Not Reach The Edges Of The Crystal. It In No Way Affects The Way In Which The Watch Is Viewed And The Face Is Viewable At All Times
* The Bar Which Folds Over The Locked Clasp Comes Loose, All It Requires Is Squeezing Together With A Set Of Pliers To Rectify This, It Has Only Happened Due To Wear, I Am Guessing That The Part That Protrudes And Catches On The Clasp, Has Somewhat Worn Away And So With A Slight Squeeze, This Would Rectify The Problem.

That Is All That Is Wrong With The Watch

I Have Seen A Gold Version Of This Watch For Sale About 2 Years Ago On eBay Which Sold For Just Under £2000, It Was No Where Near As Pretty As This One

I Have Left This One Open To Offers, I Am Open To Swaps, Exchanges Or Straight Cash Offers

Every Watch Nut Who Has Seen This Has Loved It But Heard Nothing Of Nicolet Watch And Have Most Certainly Never Seen One Before

I Have Searched And Searched, I Too Have Never Seen Another.

Price is £1250

Sorry I just realised that I must put a price on the watch in order to sell it - so let us say £1250 as it needs a new acrylic crystal
Sorry Moderator - I didn't realise - Hope this is ok!

I am open to offers though and also to swaps. I like divers watches and also chronographs, but only mechanical not quartz. I know some quartz models are more reliable than others but its just a personal thing!
