Dear Community, I would very much appreciate your opinion on these two Omegas (a CK 2639 from 1952 and a CK2739 from 1956)... Have you ever seen such a small second hands on a 2639? Cheers, Giovanni
I’d call it nice, @kyle L was sort of one of the guys who bought up these kind of dials before they were cool but it’s attractive and even which are two of the key criteria imo
"Nice" (or not) is in the eye of the beholder. The blued second hand is not correct. The only model that I am aware of that employed blued second hands with gold furniture were the 30T2Rg chronometres, though there may have been others in the French market.
i love that look too. i think the blue hand is replacement…should have same colour as the other hands
On the 1st one the crown is . Looks very good in pictures IMHO, but I'd like to see it in the flesh. The price feels to me. Beat up/polished cases, water damage on dials, deteriorated plating on bridges... to each his own I guess. Those dials are usually the sign of water/moisture ingress, the innards can look very tired or be damaged.
ABORT MISSION, ABORT MISSION! Those prices are insane. At least 2-3 times its market value. Those references aren't rare at all, so I see no reason for paying premium at a dealer for them. Stick around and you will find equally nice specimens in the sales section for far, far less.
...would, for instance, a CK2894 (sort of Trésor Model?) from 1957 in 18K gold for 1750Euro (Belgian Vintage Omega dealer) be more reasonable priced? The dial is too good to be true, or?
The Trésors model aren't the most sought after, and I would still say the price is too high. Why would you think its too good to be true? It seems to have quite a lot of patina.
Do you have a link for the dealer. Just never buy a watch from this place https://www.vintage-portfolio.com/
It's a Belgian dealer: https://www.chrono24.de/omega/30t2-vintage-18k-gold-ref-2894-with-original-box--id10209049.htm I already heard about the guy from Vintage-portfolio...
Very nice patina. Price is outrageous. I'd sell you my 1943 solid 18k gold 30T2, 35mm case for much less.
I like the patina pattern on both dials. I don't like the ill fitting replacement crown and blue replacement second hand on the first watch. The prices seem very steep to me.
