Next Omega Purchase

Hi everyone,

I have been given the go ahead by the finance minister (wife) to purchase another time piece to add to my collection. I already have an omega planet ocean, Breitling super ocean heritage chronograph, Tudor GMT, Tag Carrera in the collection and would like to add another Omega. I have been looking at the below models but am super torn to make my final decision on which one to go with. Countless videos, photos, articles and I still love all 3 of them equally. Does anyone have any experience or recommendations with which one they would recommend and why. Any help will be much appreciated. Thanks in advance!

1. Seamaster Diver 300m (210.30.42.20.04.001)

2. Speed master Moonwatch sapphire sandwich (311.30.42.30.01.006)

2. Speed master Racing Co-Axial Master 44mm (329.30.44.51.04.001)

I’m not a fan of white dials so it’s an easy #3 for me.

I have #1 in blue (great watch, loving it) but since dear OP you have an PO, I would go with the moonwatch.

What colours are your tag and bretling?

I don’t particularly like white watches but there are other colours in 1 and 2. Might help.

I love white dials (heretic!). Dial notwithstanding, I really think the Diver 300m is the best all-around timepiece of that group (and that's coming from a guy with a lot of Speedmasters). I own the blue diver, love it, wear it all the time, so I'd give the nod to that option. But you have to go where your heart/passion lead you, otherwise, you'll end up one day, maybe sooner than you think, not feeling it, thus not wearing it, and probably flipping it down the road. Its fun to get others opinions, but only one counts. Good Luck! 👍

#3 Seem to be over represented in the ocean going models

You already have 3 dive watches, so I would go with one of the Speedies. I'm not a fan of non-date watches, so #2 is the choice for me. The update to the Racing line is fantastic all around IMO.

Everyone should own a Speedmaster and an SKX at some point.

Really not a fan of #1. Can't go wrong with #'s 2 or 3. Go try them on and see which one you like more.

The second 2 😀

I would go # 2 out of those three and considering what you have.

I would go for the Speedmaster Racing!
It is something about the Master chronometer and the chronographs that excites me!!!

#2 If you want a white dial watch in your collection. Also if a date, automatic movement and being able to laugh at magnets has value to you.

#3 If having a "Moon watch" is important to you and don't mind the manual wind or lack of a date.

Most of my watches (quartz included) have a date function and the few that don't aren't worn. I have a specific watch (Citizen Eco-Drive) that I use for sweaty sports and all round zero care basher, even that has a date.

Having magnetised my previous daily mechanical a few times, having the extra resistance was mandatory when I bought a new watch. Sure, it's not hard to de-magnetise it but what's the fun in that?

44.25 is too big for me but Moonwatch size works. I prefer no date. Sapphire caseback is cool but adds slightly to the thickness. Moonwatch gets my vote.

The OP has a Planet Ocean and a Breitling Super Ocean Heritage Chronograph so not sure he's too fussed about size or thickness 👍.

Good point, was focused on shortlist, not current inventory. :whipped: No change to my vote tho.
