Hi I'm new to here and no nothing about omegas, apart from they look good.

I was given this old omega when an uncle passed. I'm led to believe its gold. My uncle lived in Ireland. But spent time in the UK and in Brazil.
Looking to see if anyone could maybe help date or identify exactly what type omega it is. I placed watch for sale on an Irish adverts site and was offered 165euro. But problem is I don't even know if watch is genuine so afraid to sell.

Dial size is 30mm there's no visible stamps. I did get battery replaced and was told there's stamps on inside case and that its a nice watch but had number that was on case saved on phone and deleted it by accident.

Thanks in advance for any assistance.
    Paul from Dublin Ireland.

The numbers inside are what you need to ID...

Having said that, you have a nice memento of your uncle. Not a collectible watch at this time but who knows, in 20 years Quartz may be all the rage it was in the '70s.

Unless it is solid gold, 165 is more than fair.

Thanks for the reply. It's so comfortable to wear, I normally have big heavy bulky watches. Wouldn't even know this one is on.

Would you know if it opens from the back. My dad told me he taught its one you had to take front off to change battery. But I suspect he knows as much as I do about watches.

I've never seen a top loader quartz from Omega. Possible though. I know Tissot did it.
Looking closely at your pics, I don't see a lip on the back. Gold markings might be on the back or in between the lugs.

Took the straps off and didn't see markings. It's definetly a front loader too. Will try get a jeweller to open it next week.
