Newbie Help - Vintage "Seamaster" Authentication

Hi All, I came across this at an estate sale. I was told it's from the 1950s. I've done some research online and through the forums here but haven't been able to find anything that looks like it, so I suspect it's fake. Thought I'd solicit some opinions on here before taking to a jeweler. Thanks in advance!

Not fake. It’s a reference 2828. The dial has just been poorly repainted. Start your journey here.

Looks genuine but has a very poorly refinished dial, so unless its really cheap ($200 or less) then I'd probably pass.

Not a good one to start with. Stick around for a while and follow ebay and other threads and you will find some nice options

Yeah, I don't love it. The dial is very small and the gold coloring isn't my thing. I'll probably sell and keep an eye out for something more modern. Thanks for the input.

Dont feel bad about it. We all have had (mostly but not all early) purchases that were less wonderful the day after. I would take decent photos including movement and Caseback and describe it accurately and put it up 9.99 no reserve and let it go. That way it limits the prolonged agony. Who knows you might even make a few bucks….

The crown is a not very nice replacement, not Omega.
What's the case diameter?

Very small, like the size of a quarter.
