Very impressive shop and attention to detail. When will you be open for business?
I guess I’m technically open now, but I have a backlog of customer watches to service that will likely take me until the first of the year.

Do you have a website or are you in the word-of-mouth stage for now? By the looks of your attention to detail, commitment to cleanliness, and above all: your willingness to spend money on the proper tooling (a big deal in my world too), I'd be proud to have you service my Speedmaster when the time comes.

I’ll have a website up at some point. We are in a transitional period in my current full time job as an engineer in the automotive sector, which has been keeping me extra busy. My plan is to take in roughly 4 watches per month for service starting early next year.

A full length lab coat and I have a separate pair of shoes that will only be used in the anteroom and cleanroom. That is pretty typical in the industry. I was recently at the Omega service and training center in New Jersey, that is what they do there as well. They also have sticky mats everywhere.

you can see the type of flooring they had in both the training area and their workshops.

What an interesting post -- lots of fun to follow along, and very interesting as well. Keep up the good work, and looking forward to your continued posts on progress.

The winder has been updated. I needed one that also would run at 1x in addition to the 4x Omega specifies in their testing.

The target is .02 to .2 inches of water. I’m right in the middle.

I'm late to the game here, but I have the same manometer for my radon mitigation system. I just had to buy a new container of oil to refill it ... the oil gradually evaporates over time. So make a mark at 0.11 to indicate the nominal pressure difference of your system. As the oil evaporates, the level will drop. For a while, you will be able to use the zero set knob to adjust it by removing the tubes from the inlets. Eventually you'll need to add more oil.

It's helpful to log the level. I recently had some plumbers in my crawlspace, and afterwards the nominal level had dropped significantly, so I knew they had caused some damage to the vapor barrier. Today, I went in with a headlamp and repaired it.

You just HAD to win the winder competition didn't you!
