New vintage owner; missing part...

Need some help. I'm new to all this. Have just bought my first vintage Omega on eBay. Was very nervous. Received yesterday and took straight to a specialist to take the back off to check that I hadn't been shafted. Compared the listing pics to the actual watch and there was a fixing missing (see terrible pictures) and I'm concerned that the watch will now not function (although it seems to be fine). Specialist said he'd have a look and repair the missing part (at considerable cost) but I've looked around and I think it might just be a fixing for the mechanism to the case. Can you reassure/advise me as I'm panicking. Probably overpaid for it too...

Yes, there’s a movement clamp and the corresponding screw missing. Although the initial pictures also looked like it had incorrect clamps, I don’t think they’re intended to be installed at an angle.

Would you have a picture from the front of the watch? Resolution of the pictures isn’t great but does it looks like it says cal 611 - which would be a movement with date complication. 135.070 is a no-date watch, though…

Care to also share what you paid for it? People here can help you evaluate if it was a good deal. If this was bought from eBay, no matter if the seller offers the right to return or not, if there’s something wrong with it - like missing parts - you are eligible for a return, should you want it.

Cripes. Now I’m worried. Yes to date, yes to 611. Pics attached. Paid £432. Feel I’ve been done now as it has a date.
Bracing for impact.

Yikes. I'd return it and get my money back if I were you.
Or not. A missing case clamp is no big deal, it's possibly buried in the movement as it came out during shipping.

Pay attention to what your watchmaker tells you.

I don't know about the watch, but it could be a re-dial, google brought up this: https://www.ebay.ie/itm/112617428323

It's a cheap part but ask for the missing part at least

The carved logo behind is an afghan military logo afaik

Are you overlooking the fact that this has a date function but a no date case number? Perhaps it has just seen a caseback swap but the dial is also suspect IMO. That is a put together or worse contains fake parts. It has Afghan Air Force mark on the back, there are plenty of these out there and they often smell fishy.

In that respect, sure, but that's up to the buyer whether he likes the fantasy dial and doesn't care it was assembled from parts.

Thank you all. I'm staying away from this and will return. Now for the nightmare that is waiting for eBay/PayPal returns...
Genuinely grateful to you all.

Good decision, I think. And I wouldn’t expect the whole process to be that nightmare-ish tbh, both eBay and PayPal are usually on the buyer’s side of things.
