Welcome to the Forum! In true ΩF fashion, you're starting off with a HUGE question. I am no expert on the Speedmaster (I have only one, which is worthy of mockery among some here), but I'll say the following:
• The DSOTM (there are lots of acronyms here!) is a beautiful watch.
• Many here may tell you that, for your first Speedmaster, you should go with the classic Moonwatch. (Full disclosure: I would probably be one of them.) It's the ultimate gesture of respect for the history of the Speedmaster. You can go modern or vintage here, but it's a total classic.
• That said, take some time to think carefully. If you can try on each model, do so. In the end, buy what really sings to you. Because that's the watch you'll wear instead of leaving it in a box or a drawer.
