Hi, i new to the forum but thought i would respond here.
I just added to my Omega collection yesterday with a new speedy 3861 sapphire.
Having expected a clasp with a pin micro adjustment, i was pleasantly surprised that it has the push 2 stage micro adjustable clasp.
Omega must now changing to this type on new supplied watches.

Please keep in mind that if you order a seperate clasp it doesn't come with the clasp links. And you need these links, because they are different. That's because of the push button in the clasp. The parts that fold into the clasp have different inside dimensions and therefore the clasp link on one end is not compatible with the older style 3861 Moonwatch bracelet.

It can be done by replacing this part like Lu posted above. But then it's not a perfect fit and the clasp will sit higher on your wrist and I'm not sure if it's secure. It's quite a puzzle, but the best way is to just sell your old 3861 bracelet and buy the new one imho.

I had the same issue with replacing the 57 clasp on my Apollo 11 50th bracelet. I had to use the clasp links of the 57 bracelet to make it fit. And these are not included if you buy a seperate clasp (learned that the hard way)

Here's are some photos of the dimensions of the new clasp link (that's wider than the first 3861 Moonwatch bracelet without microadjustment on the fly).

I am thinking about purchasing a Speedmaster with the old bracelet. I've been chatting with a member who has the hesalite model with the old bracelet and additionaly added the new clasp.

My question is if the bracelet is the same? Is it only the clasp that that changed or did the bracelet change as well? I recall seeing somewhere somebody that posted info regarding the bracelet measurements.

I received an email from the Omega boutique. They responded:

"We received information from our watch technicians regarding the clasp and they are highly advising that we do not install that clasp to a timepiece that is not meant to have it because the fit is not a good fit and will very likely fail and we cannot warranty product.

There is another way to make it fit better but this requires a link which is not yet available, if and when this link does become available we will let you know so that we can better assist you with this adjustment."
Did they give any indication of an ETA in the future when it would be available? Probably not.
