·Sharing my “new” Speedy 145.022-69, which I believe is 100 percent original and virtually untouched. (Happy to be corrected if there are other opinions.) Never been serviced nor polished, and still has the red dot on the case back. The gasket was a gooey mess, and it’ll be going off for a movement service, although everything is working perfectly and it’s keeping great time. Fully linked 1039/516 bracelet with zero stretch. Original Omega crystal (type A2), but I’ll change it for safety and keep the original. Only wart is slight flaking of the black paint on the DON bezel near the “65.”
The icing was all the original paperwork, manuals and box. It was a one-owner watch that was rarely worn, and then tucked away for decades. The owner passed away and the family sold it. This Speedy was originally purchased at the watch department of the then-famous (and now-defunct) Hudson Department Store in Detroit in July 1971.
