New Snoopy... strap advice?

I decided to pay ≈50% over list for an unworn virtually new Snoopy 3 (no OBs are nearby and I'm too damn old to wait). I love the watch but I'm not digging the strap. I don't like the strong tapering nor the hole-supporting leather(?) strip. I have an 3750 which I usually keep on its bracelet or a 1 piece Nato (but I'm looking into a 2-piece leather strap for style). Because I want to be able to watch the little Snoopy on the back of this watch, no one piece Natos nor a bracelet will work.
I have a 6.75" flat wrist. Any suggestions for a strap?

Congrats! I completely understand not waiting any longer. Life is too short.

I have the Snoopy on the original strap. Didn't like it at first, but mostly due to comfort. It's gotten better, but also has shown wear much quicker than I expected.

I'll be looking at an additional strap from Theo and Harris. I like their stuff.

Always thought it would look great on a white NATO. Two piece would let Snoopy be viewed 😀

That super stiff strap will slowly break-in. You can accelerate the process by slowly molding it around a water bottle or something similar. Once it takes the shape of your wrist, it is a great strap. This watch is more top heavy than other speedmasters, so I think Omega decided that the strap needs to retain its shape to minimize movement of the watch head.

I'm familiar with the initial stiffness of sailcloth; I have the Blancpain Bathyscaphe chrono which came on one BUT that one doesn't take as drastically nor have the awkward hole support section.

Not sure what it is about this strap but I wore it 2 notches too tight for 2 days before my hand died.

It has contoured nicely but it certainly hasn’t loosened up and I’ve had my snoopy for 2 years or more.

I’ve had other Omega’s like the 1948 with very stiff straps that have softened considerably, infact the 1948 was so stiff originally it would sit up off my wrist. Now it is a lovely aged supple leather.

Regarding the snoopy I think it’s the pin buckle hole guard composition that is acting like a rigid backbone to the whole thing. The end of the strap at the taper is fraying. Not a criticism but as you say, not my favourite omega strap. I’ve been too lazy to change but I’m a big fan of bulang and sons straps and my first port of call would be a suede style blue strap from them.
Eg this is nice

Artem straps
I've read extremely mixed reviews on these. Half claim their nearly as good as the Blancpain straps and half say they're equivalent to AliEx.

I bought two, and they are good. Might as well get a deployant since your changing the strap.

If you want something in leather and works with an omega deployant try Genteel Handmade, bit on the pricey side but you get what you paid for.

The watch is more iconic with its blue straps on. I dont think Omega uses that blue strap for anything else.

I once recognized the Snoopy across the room, on a colleague's wrist, under his jacket. For a split second, he reached up and exposed the blue combo. My gang of nerds instantly knew what it was.

He was robbed the very same day. Strangely all cc cameras glitched and footages corrupted. My point is that strap is a part of Snoopy.
Sounds like Snoopy 's collar.
I'm not the type that wants their watch noticed. I wear it for myself and, maybe, my wife. I'm not an attention seeker.

Any blue/white 2 piece NATO should look sweet.
My concern is the length. On a one-piece, the tucking is standard. Can you tuck on a two-piece?

I do think blue is the right color for a Snoopy strap, I just don't like the shade of blue or the Cordura fabric that Omega uses, along with the rubber padded support for the holes. Just too bulky. I had a modded Speedmaster from Adam Lewis who sold it with an authentic Snoopy strap as part of the mod. It was okay but I just never warmed to the fabric or the color. I finally replaced it with a Genteel padded navy blue goat strap with ecru stitching, just a better look overall than the original, imo. There are a ton of straps available at all price points that will fit the Snoopy. Choose wisely, no need to cheap it out on such a nice watch.

I was thinking the same thing when I had picked up mine St Pattys day earlier this year at my local AD (wait list since 2020). I can tell you this, after months of wearing it in rotation of other watches the strap does loosen a bit over the course of time. Now I don’t mind it as much.

The external layer of the Snoopy strap is made with Cordura. It is prone to fraying near open edges. That's one reason why Omega uses those silicone inserts around the holes on all their Cordura straps. Blancpain straps are very nice and definitely made of a different material. I don't recall ever seeing one that frayed. I was saying that the Snoopy strap seems to be designed purposefully for the Snoopy.

Quite a few folks don't seem to like the super stiff design; fortunately there are plenty of other options. I see someone mention Artem. My observation is that they seem to be made of pretty cheap plastic top layer that mimics Blancpain straps. The padding is very awkward. I would stay away from Artem.

Going custom may be the better option for you. It is a sweet watch. Enjoy!

I don't like tang buckles so I switched mine to an Omega deployant with similar looking strap as the OEM the OB gave me that is compatible with the deployant. I think the OEM strap is the best look for it so I didn't consider a bracelet or different fabric/leather material.

If you want to keep it OEM, Omega offers these NASA themed straps in various colors. Personally I think white works best.

How does the velcro hold up? How durable is the material?
