New SMP 300 serial number question

I finally got the new SMP 300 wave dial, and I'm curious about my serial number. Purchased new from an AD just about two months ago, my serial number is 8243xxxx. From video reviews online from 2018, I'm seeing serial numbers in the 89xxxxxx range. Did Omega start going backwards with their serials, or is something fishy here?

Mine was bought in May 2019 and starts with 82xxx, so the serial numbers are random (just like Rolex) it seems. Or maybe the serial numbers are descending. 馃槈

Different series of watch are seen in different ranges. Some Omegas are in the high 90m range, one watch has even been seen at Axxxxxx, suggesting they have gone over the 100k mark and are moving to a letter scheme. 1861 movement Speedmasters are still in the 77-79m range and have been since around the early 2000s.

I have had two different SMPs in the past few months and both were at 89****
My new one is at 82****. Confirmed by Omega that manufacture date is 2019.

Curious, how do you get confirmation from Omega?

I asked the serial number for the watch before it was shipped to me (replacement) and they also verified year of production since i questioned the serial number (my older ones were 89* and this is 82*).
