Thanks, one and all! I'm super excited about this one. It ran on my nightstand overnight without stopping and is keeping excellent time. About 10 seconds slow when I checked it this morning.

@Revo, yes, that sure is! It's a late Series 1 that left Solihull as a fire appliance. That's my sister in law in the picture, taken about 25 years ago. I've always loved the picture and it lives on my reading table.

Congratulation! Very nice SM300.
I had the same problem with my SM. My watchmaker stabilized the tritium working on the hide side of the hands.
It’s important to use a non-luminous tritium, to avoid the Christmas tree effect

Hello friends,

The sympathetic service on my SM300 has begun! My watchmaker sent me this picture of the super crudded-up crown, and I'm wondering if there is an expert who might know what the teensy-weensy "G" on the underside of the crown means? He didn't mention it, and I don't think he's a member (or lurker) here; I'm just curious.

Thanks,

Myron

Have been meaning to get back to this thread for ages. I really appreciated the advice and counsel of all the more experienced vintage omega experts here on this project!

All this SM300 talk... man, I really need to prioritize one of these. Congrats on the purchase. After a few months of wear, any thoughts?

Land stolen from Wisconsin!

Seriously, I spent some time in Herbster WI, every so often I think hm, working from home anyways?

Hi Myron, that was a very enjoyable read, thank you for taking the time to write and post it. A truly enviable trilogy you have, enjoy in rude health and have a wonderful holiday. The relume on the old timer looks nice too.
Best

Hey thanks, all! @SkunkPrince I laughed out loud at your comment. We love Wisconsin and travel thru often. When I do, I marvel at the Badger State’s ballsy move in co-opting Michigan’s nickname, The Mitten State! 😉

I had to do an assignment in Milwaukee about 15 years ago- was going to be there for 3 weeks. My first thought was “Milwaukee- ugh, what am I gonna do in Milwaukee!!”. I was absolutely blown away by how beautiful it was up there and was totally charmed by the city itself. If the winters weren’t so brutal, I would be tempted for sure.

Blah blah, like everyone else, it takes a few days to get used to the temperature dropping, and it takes a few days to get used to the temperature rising.

Don't let a little snow get between you and happiness. Get here while the Great Lakes are still availble for water!

PS cost of living here is pretty low. 2000 sq ft house with full basement can be had for $250K, and if you need less room? Half that, still with full basement.

I left Chicago and that (-)20 with the windchill weather 30 years ago and haven't looked back since! Don't even want to see snow on TV anymore!
