Yeah...not a fan of gold in general, but especially on a diver.

YES! Ploprof style sliding micro-adjust clasp on the CK2913 Re-Issue! And that is definitely steel you're looking at there. No more half-links!

It sounds like Omega is starting to listen to it's fanbase. It's about time! No pun intended. 😀

IMO its definitely both steel and gold, there's zero chance of this being a gold only watch.

My thoughts too. And we will know soon.

They should have never quit the design to begin with. Hopefully they learn their lesson this time and keep this one around for a while.

How long until there's a Dark Depths of the Sea limited edition?

I'm a bit skeptical to the "fake patina", hoping they don't go overboard..

i didn't think a modern omega would ever really interest me but they've got my attention! What price do we think?

I hate to say this but the no date kills me. I look at my speedmaster at work all the time for the date still.

True but if they had a date on it you'd be hard pressed explaining a non-watch nut the difference between SM300 and Planet Ocean.

Just looking at that, it almost looks like a sandwich dial is in use there rather than it being painted directly on the dial. Would be the first time that's been used by an OMEGA from memory. I think the lume looks a bit like the Jaeger LeCoultre Tribute To Deep Sea in terms of colour which is really about spot on. Just looking at the features on this, including the bracelet with simpler design but high tech adjustable clasp, the historically accurate design etc, you have to wonder how much time they spent reading this and other forums getting to know what Seamaster fans want in a watch.

I think you're right about the sandwich dial. That's an interesting touch, and a much welcomed one IMO. I love the depth a sandwich dial adds.

agreed.

The key will be the case thickness -- if it's under 13mm, then it will be a definite contender for those (like me) who do not like the bulk and thickness of the current Planet Ocean 8500.

A straight three hand model with no date should be thinner, one would hope. What is a "master coaxial" anyway, as printed on the front? Perhaps a manual wind coaxial?!

I doubt it would be manual wind, no SM300 has been in the past, and manual winding would put increased stress on the crown seals which would be less than ideal for a diver.

Last year, while introducing the humble bee, they mentioned that from 2017 on installing the 8508 as a standard caliber is planned. So this might be a good opportunity to start with, isn't it?
