Received my Anchor black 21mm Universal FKM Deployant strap today (faux sailcloth similar to Artem Hydroflex but way cheaper) and installed it on my new black PO. I think I definitely like this look better than the OEM style. Before and after photos

Looks nice man, it's amazing how much different the new PO looks on a strap that doesn't have the steel end-link pieces attached to it. You might be one of the first to try it so far.

The Anchor strap is a huge improvement, IMO. You inspired me, and I have bought a couple straps from them this morning. 25% Black Friday discount!

Ordered the omega rubber strap to diffuse the mirror ball look, but you gave me an idea.

It greatly reduces the Cybertruck look. That's a win in my book.

Maybe the aftermarket shops (Forstner, Uncle Straps, etc.) will produce bracelets with normal end links. That would improve the look a lot.

Very nice looking!! I was curious to see how it looked on a standard strap.

Having tried both the bracelet and rubber strap on at the boutique the other day, I much prefer the rubber. The bracelet is just too blingy for me.

That reminds me of another reason I will never buy the new Planet Ocean. 21mm lugs.

21mm lugs should be banned. There's zero reason why they can't use either 20 or 22 depending on the case design. It's a total screw the consumer move by the manufacturer.

In 2015 I would have agreed, maybe, but in 2025 you can find any kind of strap in any kind of color in any lugwidth.

It took me exactly 20 seconds to find a similar looking mesh strap in 21mm.

I'd much rather the watch designers get the proportions 'just right' in the case design. 1mm difference can make all the difference on the wrist.

Eh.... the more 21 mm lug watches there are, the more straps will become available for them. I strongly prefer the 21mm starting width on my Heritage, but it's a subtle thing and I can't really say why exactly.

I feel like at this point (if it wasn't for the fact that you like your 1120 powered watches so much) you hate this thing so much you're going to buy one in a fit of rage and wind up loving it.

😉

Phenomenal on the sailcloth—basically a very solid answer to the Fifty Fathoms at half the price. I will probably end up doing the same if/once I get one of these. (On the blue dial; maybe blue sailcloth.)

Well as an owner of both the Planet Ocean and a blue titanium Fifty Fathoms, the Blancpain is a nicer piece albeit at a rather ridiculous price these days. The FF is an incredibly well finished watch with a much larger power reserve and exquisitely decorated movement. And their bracelets suck - no micro-adjust at all (although they are supposedly working on changing that).

The Anchor blue strap does not come in 21mm, only 20 & 22. The Artem blue strap does come in 21mm but only with white stitching 🙁 And of course the Artem hydro-flex straps are way more expensive than the Anchor.
