2 things.

You know what? You’re right. Maybe I overstepped on self advertising. Fair on the warning to get booted.

But to be rude, criticize the hard work I’ve put into my channel, condemn it as “Sh*tty”, and to then condemn me as a thirsty and desperate person, only speaks volumes about yourself as a person. I choose to believe you would probably be more respectful face to face, but behind your computer screen, you’ve shown what a foul mouthed and deprecating bully you truly are.

I am willing to get downvoted and removed from the forum because I crossed a line, but I WILL NOT accept unwarranted hate and condemnation from you.

May I kindly suggest you consider using the personal messaging system to discuss a perceived greivance?

Try to consider the amount of patience it takes to run a forum such as this. Ash is pretty long-suffering you will see as you spend more time here.

Also, the forum is a bit more thick skinned. I confess to taking myself a bit too seriously at first. After some PMing to straighten things out, i have continued those conversations with folks I consider good friends.

I trust you will find similar experiences here. We love enthusiasm over watches and it is clear that you have a lot to contribute.

Dave

That Bronze Gold piece looks great to me. At $11,500 though, seems pricey.
I'm thinking the same, but can I just say how I'm glad it's not ceramic or titanium?

It's definitely not going to be a piece I'm interested in personally owning, but I do love that they've done this, and I'd love to see it in person and feel the weight of it. Normal bronze alloy watches don't hold any real interest for me, but this definitely needs an in-hand look.

You are wrong about @dsio, he is not more respectful face to face.
I’ve never seen an angrier Canadian.

For me Omega have only improved the watch , I tried on the previous gen one and no matter how much I wanted the blue titanium version It just sat horribly on my wrist and so far from what I'm seeing the updated line has attempted to remedy most of my grievances,

improved bracelet, check,
dropped titanium for steel, check
cleaner and less cluttered d,ial check.
leaner watch, check.
updated movement, check

everything else is a bonus the new sandwich dial with retro style numerals are quite becoming and give this line a separate identity from other seamasters, the lollipop seconds hand admittedly doesn't look as great as the older one but its not a deal breaker, price increase is minor compared to the speedmasters jump.

There is also the downgrade from Ceramic to aluminum (albeit it being hardened) on the bezel to consider.

Worth noting that at least in USD, there’s a $300 price drop for the new version. My local OB confirmed that this is apparently the true MSRP, so I’m not sure how to reconcile that against other currencies/locales showing an increase.

I'm liking the sandwich dial and lumed numerals.
Don't like the size increase.

I do not find the Panerai style numerals an improvement.

Also, does a sandwich dial really improve luminosity? Both the charging and the emitted light would have to travel through the lume for the hidden lume to make any contribution. On the other hand, the recessed position of the lume does contribute some shadowing when charging, and an angular cutoff when viewing the lume. So a sandwich dial might actually be worse for legibility in the dark.

I think that the angular cutoff was the very purpose of sandwich dials in their military origins, and the hidden lume was somewhat contributing because the material was self emitting in those days.

Personally, I don't like it on the 300. It is not part of the Seamaster heritage or DNA, painted numerals are.

Agreed, I am not a fan of the new numerals, it’s the main reason I prefer the 1st Gen.

Also, the 1st gen has the “sandwich” dial with the recessed lume. I think I’ve heard a few reviewers incorrectly state this as a new feature. I’m not missing something, am I?

I know it’s not the common opinion but I prefer aluminium bezels over ceramic. Feel they have a more organic appearance.

Isn't mixing Gold and Bronze like mixing a good Single Malt with Coke? The result may not necessarily look or taste bad but I find it strange.

I have the previous version and I really like the fauxtina on my watch but I would have never asked for more of it. Vintage lume on an aluminium bezel (besides the pip) creates a vintage look that never existed on the classic models it imitates. I absulutely perfer the old glossy ceramic bezel with the silver numerlas.

Sandwich dials look great and the 4 carved out numbers on the new version do too but is it really an improvement? Did Omega think "Those sandwich dials on Panerai watches look good and there is a popular demand for it, we can do this too"? One thing I really like about my version is the reflective silver color they used for the numbers and the text. The watch looks different if you look at it from a 45° angle.

Never liked the lolipop hand on the Spectre Version but I think it is an improvement that it is silver now.

The biggest improvement is the bracelet but I thought they would have added a more classic clasp like the new Speedmaster if they generally went in a more vintage direction.

I've criticized a few details now and could criticize a few more but the strange thing is that this new watch seen as a total package isn't that bad. 😀

The 1st gen was not advertised as a sandwich dial, it was said to be laser cut recesses with lume inside. If this new gen is a true sandwich dial is something I don't know. It would be a first for Omega I think.
