New Models 2023 - Rumors and Suggestions

Materials would make sense, but I can't think of what else Omega would be doing there so soon. O-Mega steel was the newest material, maybe some kind of titanium alloy next? Anything precious metal is too expensive to be a "big value"

Bio Ceramic and cheaper movements is going in the opposite direction that Omega has been aiming for the last few years, so I disagree with those guesses.
Could be expanding the new steel to include other models? Planet Ocean would make sense there, a natural progression. The quote says singular "watch", though, so maybe a PO special edition?

They'll definitely expand the new steel to more models, but this tease sounds like its for something more significant.
A PO refresh in general would make sense, its been a while since they refreshed the line.

If it's a new innovation it is probably movement related. Like a split second 3861, or a flyback feature on the 3861, or some other novel feature that we haven't seen before.

If it's material related maybe a 42 mm ceramic case and bracelet for the Speedmaster.

Splits or flyback would be interesting.

I'm a bit fearful of ceramic. The idea that if you drop it and it hits the ground at a certain angle it can crack, that's a turn off. The edges are a bit sharp too (not skin cutting, but sharp). The one thing I didn't like about the Apollo 8 DSOTM was the ceramic case.

But Omega seems to like the material.

I think the phobia around ceramic cases is way overblown. In practice they work fine. I think Omega could cover them in their 5 year warranty and not suffer many losses relative to the number produced.

More ceramic would be great - looking forward to what they have, as long as it's not smart-watch related.

Like a date maybe 😉 ?

My guess: 321. 42 Steel Case. Moonwatch Professional Dial. Sapphire Sandwich. Flat Bracelet.

39mm case, baton hands - Professional/Moonwatch dial, 3861 movement, flat tapered bracelet...

if so, I'd be at the OB quicker than James Corden on the counter staff at Burger King for an undersalted order of fries.

Omega just posted on their Instagram, we'll see something new January 26th. Looks like a new mainspring but maybe someone with more movement knowledge can chime in.

Definitely a hairspring, not a mainspring. Honestly, the caption could mean anything. Overcoils for silicon like Breguet? New profile for improved isochronism? Could even be for a rattrapante or instantaneously changing minute counter.

It was a balance spring. It was also hash tagged Speedmaster, but except for the 321, all current Speedmaster movements already have a silicon balance spring...odd...

Hi all, an Omega newbie here. Although I own a 1960's Seamaster by way of my late grandfather, I intend to celebrate my 45th birthday by purchasing a modern Seamaster this year. I love the functionality of the Seamaster 300 Heritage model (234.30.41.21.01.001), but am wondering-- is there any chance Omega will release more Seamaster Heritage models this year? If so, does anyone have any clue what they would release?

P.S. Not trying to hijack this thread but figured since it is about 2023 rumors, this would be the place to ask.

Here is my wishlist:
-re-issue of the 165.024 big triangle but with the white lume
-titanium 166.025 or some other version of a mini-ploprof
-Alaska iii tribute that is all black radial dial, radial bezel, titanium case with flattened twisted lugs like the proto.
-Ceramic Speedmaster Professional (42 case) would be awesome. Love the Apollo8 but give me a 42
-More vintage logo stuff!

I have a PO 8500 42 and I am really tired of the thickness, if they don´t slim this line THIS YEAR, I will get this:
Shame because of the fixed lugs you do not have the option for bracelets. Perhaps silly but that was the detracting point for me when considering it.
