They don’t want to vote for statehood cause they are getting all the benefits as it is. I dated a few Puerto Rican girls when I was single there fathers were really pro voting to become a state but he said too many of the youngsters are happy with using the system the way it is. We actually had some in-depth interesting talks on the subject as one of the girls father was in Puerto Rican politics and was going off on the corruption but tbh I was more focused on his daughters (attributes) as they were very impressive
