Hi All,

After nearly a year of being out of work and Covid putting paid to a potential job lined up in Feb this year one of the jobs I applied for during lockdown in April got back to me 2 weeks ago. Had a teams interview which was novel and today I met up with the boss of the company and they offered me the job to start on the 30th of November. Add the 50p Sapphire I got from the car boot selling for £3600 at auction things starting to look up.

Congratulations! That's got to be a great feeling, and a real accomplishment given the current level of uncertainty in....everything.

But seriously congrats dude it is really tough being out of work I was for quite a while after an injury. I really felt things crashing down for a bit. It’s good to hear these stories as you can get screwed up mentally and think “as it is now it shall always be.” That is almost never the case, things are always changing. It’s a tough time for a lot of people. On top of that it’s very hard to access help that was once readily available. So good on you and I hope it’s a story often repeated here for those in need.

Well done, you. I also spent 6 months on the bench thanks to covid cutbacks. As soon as that first paycheck posted (which was tiny due to the timing of pay periods) I went out and treated myself to a reward for having shown restraint during the hard times. So find something to treat yourself because you deserve it.

Congratulations, very pleased for you and good luck with the new job - I think that counts as a good reason to get a new watch for the first day at your new job 😉

Hopefully with the vaccine news, 2021 will be a better year for all of us!
